The performances of Arnie, Bodger and Shaq in our last 2 games will not encourage a big club to sign them.

He rings them regardless of how he played "to get the game out of his head". Do you know this for a fact 'flaps? I was told it by someone who has contacts at the club. I don't know if it's true or not but it sounds like the kind of odd thing he would do. Yeh, it was in the mail after an interview with our lot.

Nobody plays well every single week. He'd better if we give him 80K a week for his sake.

I honestly think it will be very hard to replace the Arnie we have seen most of this season, but I also think he owes the club a lot for rebuilding his career! Really feel he should sign an extension (3-year-contract with £50 000 per week) with a release clause around £15M. This will protect both his and the club's interests the way I see it. If a big club want him £15M is peanuts, but at least Stoke then also get a fair amount back.

To these blokes this is JUST A JOB, they may kiss their badge when they get it right but it's more a kiss to satisfy us (the fans) than as their own genuine belief.

Our best players should of course be on the highest money. But there should be a limit so not to upset other squad players. For example Ryan, Arnie, Shaqiri etc should all be top earners. Maybe Ryan more so because he's our captain. If Arnies agent is taking the pee then it's goodbye and it will leave a slight bitter taste considering how Stoke have turned his career around.
Saying that, he could well sign next week and all this speculation put to bed

I like Arnie, but that pretty much sums him up for me too matt..... I think all 3 are hit and miss enough to warrant them staying here, to be honest. They are fantastic when they are on their game and majestic when they all click together, but they don't do it often enough. Ironically, I think Arnie is the most consistent of the three. I agree with that, Arnie is the most consistent of the holy trinity 3. And if he is not quite firing he at least brings a real physical presence to the party which you don't get from Shaq and Bojan.

He's had a great season. I love his quixotic demeanour and would love him to stay with us for ever but... If his agent wants to play silly buggers Berahino him or fuck him off up the Vale. This club is always bigger than 1 player - more now than ever.

This Holy trinity thing is getting right on my tits. If they are so good why are we not in the top 6? IMO Ethers was much better and effective than any of the three. Shaq has unbelievable abilty but his form has been patchy. Bojans form is no where near the level it was before his injury. Arnie I agree has been excellent this season and has found a consistency which was previously lacking. Does this run of form justify a big contract. A big fat resounding no from me.
For me we'd be better employing a more direct winger with Diouf up front.

Arnie has certainly been the better player of the three of them so far, but we all are aware of Shaq and Bojan's potential. We paid £12M for Shaq and he has played for Bayern Munich too so maybe it's right that he is the top earner of the three of them, but Arnie should earn more than Bojan the way I see it. Saw somewhere that Shaq is on £70K per week, but I guess that is way too high compared to what he really earns. At least it sounds like crazy money for a club like ours, but what do I know!?

The trouble with Arnie is the extent of his consistency.
He can be outstanding (and has been repeatedly this season), but when he is poor he is the worst player on the pitch.
Are a top, top club going to risk their money on a player who doesn't turn up in his club's biggest game for years.
SCFC is the extent of his ambitions. The sooner he realises this the better.

Very valid though I've been slaughtered but I've said all year neither are the threat Moses was and he and Diouf would still be my first choice wjth one of arnie or shaq on ten right and bojan in the hole .
False 9 for me is a one off not the norm as its asks bojan to Hoskins the ball at times with back to goal as the ball comes from the back and that's simply not his game .Also robs us of the chance of a one long pass up the middle to use Dioif's pace

Still think it is worth at least 60-70k a week (weighted according to appearances). It just makes financial sense because it would cost more to replace him in the long run.

Maybe the thread should be titled 'Arnie contract discussions still ongoing'.
Fact is that he hasn't rejected a 'final' contract offer. Indeed, if he wanted out then I'm sure he would simply reject any offer outright and it would be reported as so.
He just wants better terms than our first offer, which as far as we know could be the same as what he's on now. In which case, of course he would ask for more. I wouldn't accept the same wage as now for the next 3-5 years, especially if I was one of the more productive employees.

This shows how much shit the papers write .This is the same article with 100k at the top and goes down to 80 k a week further down the article. Unsettled Stoke City winger Marko Arnautovic is reportedly demanding in excess of £100k-a-week for his new contract. Arnautovic joined Stoke for £2m from Werder Bremen in September 2013. The forward is holding out for a deal worth £80k-a-week, but the club are refusing to accept such an increase and talks are now on hold.

Of course I'd like to see Arnie sign an extension, his performance and his attitude on the pitch is improving and I'm sure he has more to find, However when it comes down to it. If he or any other layer refuses to sign and it means they will be going elsewhere for free then whoever the player is we should drop them down the pecking order and straight into the reserves or whatever...

Hate players that hold the club to ransom. SCFC will let him go so as not to rock the boat if it's not resolved. Arnie has not been consistent enough of me and I would rather have players with the 'Glen Johnson' attitude what a great signing he has been.

What is the reason for Arnies consistency this season? Did someone talk to him at the start of the season? Im genuinely interested to know, because the previous 2 years he didnt get started until about February time. 7 Absolute genius at the moment - just hope it continues forever The newspaper quote suggests that the coaches are working with him to improve his goal scoring ability, probably explains his improved consistency.

Just for comparison
Man utd signed valencia for £16million from wigan in 2009.
You would think arnautovic would only go to a club in champions league or contention. For me, If Valencia can go from Wigan in 2009 for that price then todays inflated fees would make a joke of ourselves for selling arnie for anything less than 18million.
