Can anyone explain to me what he's done, with his zero goals, zero assists and all round shoddy performances, to justify yet another call up for England??

I'd still take him for Stoke. Gouranga.

It's always been more down to who you play for than how good you are or whether you're in form, the Lallana that played for Southampton a few years back was superb and deserved a call up but he's a long way off the player he was at Southampton on current form.

Adam Ronaldo. I'm not havin that mate! Jimmy Liddell would disagree with you!
Although I too think he's wank. But our national team is wank. So wank players will get called up. So everything is as it should be.

One of Roys favourites, his behaviour last season and this at Stoke was appalling, repeatedly rolling around pretending to have been fouled and hitting out at Pieters when he offered to help him off the floor, without doubt one of the most objectionable players in the league.

There is a lot of truth in that. He did look good at Southampton and, so far, he has rarely looked good at Liverpool. If Klopp can get the best out of him then Lallana and England may be grateful. Although the way Woy opewates, he'll continue to get picked whether his form impwoves or not.

He's a horrible little prick though, one of the many dickheads in that squad which make it so difficult for me to support England anymore. Butland's rekindled an interest but when I'm booing the likes of that cunt Lallana every week it's essentially hypocrisy to support him in white.

I'd be very surprised if he is still at Liverpool this time next year.
Never been overly impressed with him and he certainly isn't good enough for where Liverpool will be going under Klopp.

Yet another example of why the England team is so unwatchably crap. I support England in every team sport and every individual English contestant in every sport of any kind. But the England football team? Sorry I just can't bring myself to care as much as I should. And this sort of thing is the reason why.

We are what we are and there are some cracking young footballers in that squad. We aren't going to win anything anytime soon, but then again we don't exactly have a rich history of major trophies do we,so just take it for what it is and get behind them when they play. Our biggest problem is our manager at the minute.

I have absolutely zero appetite for England. Whether it's the manager or the slime that represent our country at times. I started to feel like this with Capello and it has not got to a point where I watch none of the games.

Roy makes the safe picks i.e. players at the 'big 6' or those players touted in the media. That's how he operates, so Lallana is always one of the first names on his list. According to my bin dipper supporting family he is worse than dog shite and they want gone. In fairness he has been absolute shite this season but whenever has that been a reason for Roy not to pick someone. It is a truly shockingly poor squad but this is the cream of English talent at the moment....depressing

I predict Ryan will be in the squad for the Euros because his form will be that good the media will clamour for his inclusion and Roy will do as he's told

I know there are people on here who love Ryan but think he's not international quality, but surely, surely...well, just look at the list.. Ryan BERTRAND Gary CAHILL Nathaniel CLYNE Kieran GIBBS Phil JONES Chris SMALLING John STONES Kyle WALKER The situation you have though is that the thought will be this - Shawcross plays as a central defender. He will want 4 full/wing backs to support the wing play so that leaves only 4 positions: Gary Cahill - regardless of how poor he has been, Roy will think he plays for Chelsea who are in the Champions League and Champions last season - In! Chris Smalling - I get the impression that he has been playing well, but still, Roy will think he plays for Man Utd who are in the Champions League - In! Phil Jones - regardless of poor performance (including a number of Man Utd fan's opinions) he is "versatile" plays for Man Utd... blah blah... - In! John Stones - regardless of poor performances (according to a number on here), he is seen as the next best thing, the media love him and build him up, play up the apparent dearth of "leaders and defenders"..... In! Ryan Shawcross - I think he will show his true quality again this season as he progresses, captain of a steady ship, a defence that rates high amongst the Premier teams, however He plays for what is seen as an unfashionable club. Despite our growing plaudits, and Ryan will attract an increasing number of media plaudits throughout the season, I think his injury absence will not give him enough time to score a place in the squad and I fear that his chance will now be lost. Roy will use this time to form his team and Ryan won't break in.... as much as my heart (and head) disagrees with this.

I'm sorry to say Ryan will not play as long as Roy is in charge it's clear he does not rate him and the fact the popular media still get on Ryan's back. Until both change he's out in the cold which is a shame because he deserves a place.

Ok I haven't lost the plot but if Arnie or Bojan were eligible to play for England would they get in our current squad? In fact would any of our current players get in the squad? (If Eligible and the exception of Butland)
