I know the game isn't even over and we could yet even lose, but Wollschied has been phenomenal today it's as simple as that. I can't believe this is the same player that arrived in January quite frankly and it's becoming increasingly clear why at one stage a couple years ago he was one of the biggest centre half prospects in the world. Some people on here through the summer absolutely slated the bloke and the decision to sign him. We paid a couple million for a 26 year old centre half who looks like a truly formidable player right now. Top performance by all but he needs picking out especially!

Thank god he isn't quick or we'd never have signed him. He's looking an excellent player this season, massive credit to Hughes for the signing.

Wollscheid or Cameron for me MOTM. They made us solid in the spine.

He looks a class act. So calm on the ball him and Afellay are brilliant finds.

My man of the match but there were a few excellent players out there today. All in stripes...and one blue top.

Wolly is such an enigma.
Runs weird, kicks weird but is fooking brilliant.
Another clean sheet - we have an amazing back four and keeper...

Wollscheid has been immense today
And not for the first time this season
Rick solid
I was one of his critics and admitted before to having eaten more than a wee share of humble pie
So glad to have been proved wrong
We have a rock solid back 5 including jack

Best performance I've seen from a Stoke player in years today.
Fucking A, Wolly.

Surely he made a fuck up at some stage of the game? He didn't score. Fucks sake Philipp, sort yourself out, 3/10.

Motm today for me. Him and Ryan were superb. Why don't we put that much desire into every game?

Away on holiday, so I couldn't see/watch the match today and reduced to listening to R5.
The commentator was very complementary about Ryan who has just cleared the ball 3 times on the trot (apparently) and Jimmy Armfield's comment was "Yes he's very good, but I've been impressed by Wollschied, a very strong player".

Absolute beast of a player, slow to settle in like a few other players but my god what a team him and Ryan make, Shawcross is free to close down knowing full well he's got a big imposing German behind him cleaning up
Definitely MOTM for me today, his feet were poking in everywhere, making blocks and tackles and no questionable decisions

One cruncher on Mata in the second half was superb - totally cleaned the ball and the man out.
Superb game from der Kaiser II

I thought he was calmness personified today. His tackling was brilliant and when he won the ball the pass usually found Stoke feat. Perfect foil for Ryan at the heart of the defence.
