Outstanding.
Looked a different class.
Managerial masterstroke picking him up for a bargain fee and helping him adjust to the Prem.

Easily man of the match for me today! Great reading of the game in the second half!

Very classy - can't believe how calm he is. I'm panicking like buggery in the stand but he just takes it all in his stride.

He was pretty wank at times last season, but now he's playing like the bastard lovechild of Franz Beckenbauer and Robert Huth!

Surely he made a fuck up at some stage of the game? He didn't score. Fucks sake Philipp, sort yourself out, 3/10. In all seriousness, it would be nice to see more a threat from him (and Ryan) at set pieces.

Not for me to negate a fellow German in his performance. Boy has he improved and become more consistent... But I can't help feeling that this is a massive result of having Shawcross back in the side! I don't want to berate Hodgson but we should underestimate Shawcross ' influence on Philip's game and would do the same for England! Grrrr

The more I see the more he reminds me of Bouldy. Remember he was a target for the boo boys early on. Wooly looks calm, classy and hardly wastes a pass. Top signing from hughesy.

I thought he was typical Wolly. Played well but made some schoolboy errors and then blamed everyone bar him for them.
Seeing a centre half letting the ball bounce I found painful. But that's just me. It nearly cost us, thankfully it didn't. But he didn't put a foot wrong.....
I just don't get it but hey that's football.

We know how much you enjoyed Geoff at centre half. I noticed you comment on the collision..... How do you know Jack actually called? Just wondering like.

If Muniesa isn't going to get fit (it seems a long way off) I'd like another centre back signed. Wolly made the error without Jack calling or not. It shouldn't have come to it, you cannot let that ball bounce there. It was nothing to do with the wind, he thought he could control and had no idea what was around him. It was very poor. He did play well today but I can't watch a centre back doing that and not comment. He reminds of Wilson when he had a regular run there ie like a duck. He'd look like he was playing fine on the surface but below the water line his little legs are going ten to the dozen and it's causing the odd moment of chaos. Generally he has got a lot better but he's making these sorts of big errors too often. It doesn't seem concern people, that's fine but it concerns me.

Wollschied this season reminds me so much of Faye in his first season with us. Am I the only one that feels this?
Am I crazy?

I'll say this, Wolly is twice the centre back Wilson is.... And that's with no disrespect to Marc. Wolly isn't perfect but he's a damned good centre back and it's getting harder and harder to find reasons to knock him. Would you swap him for Phil Jones? Who do you think we should sign?

He is better now yes. I would but not to play centre back. I think Jones would be a cracking true defensive midfielder for someone like us. He's not good enough for the best and he's not and never has been a centre back. Marc Bartra's available...... That'd be a heck of a coup.

A straight swap, Phil at centre back for us, Wolly for them. No chance and you know it. They looked fucking dreadful today defensively while we looked solid, on the whole. Marc Bartra, ok, so when he's struggling after two games will you write him off?

Maybe not quite at the same level of Faye when he was at his most awesome best. But I get where you're coming from. Wolly has a swagger about him, I've always thought he'd do well for us. He has his faults, the odd 'abort mission' moment and he can lose his head & go a bit nutty.... But he's human and it's to be expected. I think he & Ryan will get even better together in time.

The lad has a reassuring swagger about him. He and Ryan are forming quite a partnership. Yes he makes the odd mistake but he seems to have a knack of getting away with them. I really can't knock Wolly.

He gets away with them by others covering his arse, which is good, it shows the team (mainly Butland) are alive to it. But I just wish he wouldn't. Because they are daft things that he should be able to easily cut out.

I feel sorry for Marc, Wollscheid's bossing his role now. He still looks kind of ungainly and slow on the turn, but Depay and Martial are hardly short on pace and he looked in control the whole time. Similar story when Silva and Sterling rocked up a few weeks back...

I think they are issues which the management and the player himself will look to cut out sooner rather than later.... Then you to can jizz over the phenomenon that is "Wolly" !!
