How many more times do I have to tell you? It's to do with respect. It's to do with changing my perceptions (as you will do with Diouf),... No way should the bloke be getting abuse on this messageboard NOW after everything he's done for us and then sacked him. You gave him abuse throughout his time at the club! New identity? Is that the one of the most hated club in the league, reputation for anti-football and generally the football pariahs? And you're lauding that? Are you telling me that you did not enjoy and soak-in the atmosphere, sheer bloody-mindedness, backs to the wall, Rory missile throwing, we'll show em .. atmosphere and feeling of those first and second seasons in the Prem? If you didn't you're not a Stoke supporter mate. It served a purpose for awhile. He was incapable of adapting his style after that. He had the chance to build on the Cup Final season and bottled it.

Could and should of been mate Me .....I was bored shitless for 80% of it Right here in thse two quotes, that's the nub of the matter. What we achieved v how we achieved it. What we achieved was fairly incredible. How we achieved it was fairly mind numbing. There have been greater achievements in the game, and the football we played wasn't always that bad. But if you want to know why this shit is still going on, it's because no one is prepared to acknowledge that both sides might be right. And bearing in mind the fun that's been had arguing the toss over the years, why should you? It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. Mind numbing??! Really??? Promotion? First season survival??? FA cup run??? Home record to rival a top six club??? Players who regularly put bodies on the line?? An atmosphere to curdle the blood??? Mind numbing me arse. There were bad times sure, it got grim towards the end.....but mind numbing??!! Mind numbing me arse

Thought you were a man of words Chef... I said NOW !! So not at the time (and I think we've disproven the suggestion that you only got a bit bored towards the end), but three years later. You wanted him gone pretty much every step of the way from the promotion season to various points of his reign up to and including the point he was actually sacked and yet now, for reasons you don't seem to even know yourself, you've decided he should've been handed another year. And you're calling on others to show respect for someone you routinely referred to as 'Tiny' and described his football as 'garbage'. Yeah that makes sense.

TPs final season and a bit was hard work, at times very hard work, but what went before ranks up there with my best Stoke memories.

You never changed your mind ?? It still doen't alter the point though that Pulis has gone and now FFS can we stop abusing him.

Yeah, you changed your mind without ever telling us what profound epiphany caused the change and why it didn't happen until long after the man had gone and we improved in his absence. You got the better football you craved for all those years and now you seem to be upset about it?

It'd be fairly stupid of me to expect everyone to see it my way. But if you look at my original post (the one you first quoted), the whole point of what I said was that no one seems prepared to accept the merits of what the other side are saying, and that's why the same shit keeps going round and round. Not everyone found the football mind-numbing, but you'd have to acknowledge that there's a fair proportion of Stoke supporters who always did. And bearing in mind the comments of many opposition supporters, and particularly the West Brom fans who are basically watching the same sort of stuff, my mind-numbing tag isn't exactly the ramblings of a lone voice.

Lincoln, Stockport, Barnet and Aldershot managers where he racked up the other 44 appearances of his 10 year professional career. Then there is Portsmouth and Southampton where he racked up 0 appearances in 5 years, so strange that Southampton were so keen to take him as part of the million plus deal that bought Andrew Davies to our reserves and loans at Bradford etc.

Did Fergie sort out Wolves paying £600k for Darren, Paul Macari had a trial at Liverpool after leaving Stoke, Mike was nowhere near the worst player we've ever had either.

Got to say that this is a perfectly setup run chase by Trouserdog. A great opening salvo with no need for extra input from the man himself.
I think a hearty congratulations will be in order when this hits the 300 count. A true masterwork.

There are worse crimes than seeing more ability in your son than there really is. Pulis, Macari, Ferguson and many other managers have all been guilty of it. Just another stick for the wankstains to add to their well used collection.

Took us ages to sort it out. Worth it though as Ant was on £90 a bastard week for the first two years he was here. I mean five grand a year for an under 21 International. What a fucking piss take.
