Just looking at them on SSN. looking at the players - listening to the manager , Notwithstanding the amazing blind spot they have as regards Our Ryan,
you look at them - across the squad - the players - the individuals - having seen them ourselves week in and out
and you just know
Sooner or later, somewhere along the line - and definitely when it counts
they will be found out
to my mind, Following England presently is simply = a hiding to nothing
and Believe it or not - I actually feel sorry for Wayne Rooney being so unfortunate as to have to 'front up'
for this bunch of overrated and over-hyped, losers
(sad but true)

Here we go again. England are playing and all the haters will soon be out in force.
Looking forward to the first "come on Slovenia" shout, which won't be too far away.
Why don't all you turncoat, mercenaries go and do something with the missus and let the fans who want to get behind our national team, regardless of how shit we might be,do so without listening to your bile.

If you don't expect anything why are you disappointed?
Be found out? Depends what you expect.

It seems to be a dick measuring thing sometimes. Boasting about hating England somehow equates to being more than a Stokie for some. By the way, I don't think the current England team is shit. It's fair to middling...as it has been for 45 years.

Most fans who know anything about football haven't "expected" anything from england for years (the media do every tournament after having themselves slated them for the years running up to that tournament and if idiots get swept up in that media hype then it says more about their own lack of knowledge of the game than anything else!)....simple fact is that i'm english,i love football so therefore i'm an england supporter.
Pretty sure i didn't stop supporting stoke when we were relegated from the first tier of football in the 80's...didn't stop supporting them when we had godawful clueless managers and players who looked like they didn't care so i don't see any reason why i should suddenly stop supporting england now either.
Staggering how so many on here are happy to slag off "plastic fans" and "gloryhunters" in the domestic leagues then show themselves up to be complete hypocrites when it comes to the national team

You take moderate footballers and you're surprised when they produce moderate football? What makes you think (along with so many others) that England somehow deserve to be among the top echelon of world football, when they've done very little for the best part of the last half century to facilitate that?

Shit we may be, but if Belgium are the number two rated team in the world, then we're either not far behind or the overall standard is crap.

2002 was disappointing, so was 2004 and 2006. We had a genuine chance in all 3 of those tournaments . 2008 I won't mention.
I for one don't particularly mind how we play or how we win just as long as we do and we qualify for these tournaments. Once your in, anything can happen. The fact is we will have as much chance as anyone once we are there, it's best just to get behind them. You win together, you lose together.

I don't hate England, I just literally can't see anything about its current incarnation worth getting excited about. I don't really like any of the players. Hart, Baines, and Milner seem like nice blokes but that's about it.
Edit-I can handle shit teams, I wouldn't stop supporting Stoke if we got relegated for example; but there's just something really dislikable about this lot. It's cliquey. I boo most of this lot every week during the season. Struggle to turn this dislike into genuine support.

That's the thing. Average players with average showings so why is anyone surprised? More daft these days when everyone has access to leagues across the worlds so can see how limited English players are.

It might be different if they got those balls out and acted like snarling beasts who had to be unleashed to batter whatever was in front of them, but watching tossers play dross is more of a chore than anything. If they ever play vs a Stoke player I always unconsciously back the Stoke player, otherwise I don't particularly want them to fail, it's more utter ambivalence than anything.

Every time I see England play I thank god I'm a dual citizen and can at-least be proud of how the US perform. I want to see England succeed but they're not immune to criticism and not should they be, the fact is that it's predictable as to who will be picked for England and you don't even have to play for your place as an England player do you because if you're from a top club you've got a guaranteed 'in'.
The England U-21s are brilliant but the mens team is seemingly poisonous, it's also laughable that Hodgson is one of the highest paid international managers while bringing about little to no success. England are pathetic at the moment and I can't believe you have some people on here defending the current regime.
The fact is I couldn't care less about England games, that's the sad part. It's not that I hate England or want them to lose (because who wants to see their nation embarrassed) but England constantly disappoint and I don't even watch half the games anymore. It's honestly a depressing situation England have going on and something has to change.

For me it's the worst England team ever managed by the worst England manager ever. Replace the manager with someone with a bit of sparkle and forward thinking that wants to play good football and there's a bit of talent in the group to work with.

I don't hate England but I've been totally ambivalent towards England since McLaren became manager and we seem to have continued going downhill since then.
The current regime under Woy has baffled me where he continually selects players based in the main on which club they play for rather than how well they have performed over a period of time. There have been a few exceptions to this but for him to continually select the likes of Jones, Smalling, Townsend etc etc doesn't give me any hope that we are likely to see any improvement in the short or medium term.
Woy needs to go ASAP, and IMO he should have gone after the World Cup debacle, but he seems Teflon coated and seemingly determined to continue with his lacklustre tactics and team selections.

Also a lot of the shit spouted on here is down to Ryan's continued absence from the squad as well, which is fucking ridiculous. They won't admit it but it's true. Mick is spot on above, and it's something I said last week,I'm English and a football fan so that automatically makes me an England fan regardless of how poor we are,or whether or not I agree with the manager and his decisions. I reckon this is the poorest England side I've ever seen Joe,we have some good players though and under a different leader we could surprise a few people at the next Euro's.
