Cech is miles better than Begovic. Anyone who says otherwise is deluded.

Please don't waste it on Moses Foster is not actually getting the money. For which I am truly grateful

We'll only get what someone is willing to pay. We'll have to hope for a bidding war but that might not happen until just before the window closes if we can hold our nerve that long.

I love Bego but when I read that "his mind was not right to be on the bench." Going in work tonight and put that one to my boss. See you in the dole queue tomorrow. If his mind isn't programmed to be a squad player then let him go, as long as is not to Arsenal because then I really would have to hate him

Considering the QPR debacle, regarding how players wouldn't play (Zarate), or move on to pastures new (Shaun Wright Philips), it is refreshing to see one of our players desperate to play.

I'd say, in Bego's case, it shows arrogance. He's pretty much saying that he's too good to be dropped for Butland. It's not even as if he's been in good form; he's been making mistakes left, right and centre.

I wouldn't grumble if we received 8-10 mil considering he's soon to be in his final 12 months.. The whole 'head not right for the bench' outburst has left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth though....imagine if some of the outfield players started saying similar things they would be straight out the door, it's only because he is our goalkeeper and they are harder to drop and replace he's got away with it.
He's been a great servant for us but Jack is the future of that I'm sure!

Peter Czec is expected to fetch £10m, then Bego must be worth AT LEAST £12m. Sorry but Czech is an infinitely better keeper. On begos form this season, possibly. On last seasons form, cech was nowhere near as good as bego.

Do you know Asmir personally then?
Mountains out of moles hills are being made over this.

He refused to sit on the bench.... Not once, but twice. That says it all really. EDIT: Actually, the first time, he was refusing to play.

Perhaps he thought that if he had to come on he wouldn't be at his best? Just like you, I have no idea. I'd rather give the fella the benefit of the doubt rather than lay into him, especially as for the majority of the time he has been with us he has been nothing short of fantastic.

Fair enough. Guess we'll have to wait and see. Hopefully more will be revealed over the next few days.

In my opinion it's time for him to move on and we should get the most money we can. £8million seems about right and we have a more than able replacement. I think he should go with our best wishes and not be slagged off because he missed a game for whatever reason.

Sorensen is going at the end of the season and Begovic is likely to. If we bring in this Danish lad as No.2 to Butland, who is on the books as our potential No.3? One of the kids? It's the Danish lad as No.2 which is of most concern.

I think we'd be getting rinsed if we only got 8m. I really think we should push for 10m

I think £8m is pretty good considering the contract situation and that keepers are generally valued less.
I also think there's no need to panic if he does. Injuries are pretty rare in that position and we've still got a very good keeper in Butland.
It just feels odd not having two very good keepers to choose from. Its more likely going to be good 1st choice, unknown 2nd and youth 3rd. which is what a lot of clubs have to be honest. Good keepers want games.

£8m seems realistic given the contract situation and the dip in form this year.
Everyone knows we aren't going to let him go for nothing next year so the only way we would get more is if a couple of big clubs were desperate for a top quality keeper and got into a bidding war.

I think this Danish lad will be number 2 by default. Still think we'll sign another keeper, possibly another young but highly rated player like Butland was/is who will be loaned out. (I know nothing, just guessing)

Swansea was a game changer.
Up until then I believe his intention was to sign up to stay for the right deal.
Now he's fallen out with Hughes - and I reckon that means there's no way back.
"Ongoing contract discussions" are just a shop window exercise to get the price up.

8mil is great considering he's worth around 12mil with a longer contract.

Sadly there seems to be quite a bit of animosity towards Bego, shame really as it clouds what a great payer and ambassador he has been for the club.Nobody really has a complete handle on what is happening behind the scenes. Bego to me seems like a decent pro in a sport riddled with tossers. I hope he gets a top club and I have a feeling that there will be times next season when we will be wishing he was still in between the sticks

He's been a wonderful goalkeeper, a real ambassador for this club and comes across a real gentleman. We don't know what's going on behind the scenes and I'm not sure we should be speculating on his reasons for not being on the bench.

Same money as Mignolet? Ridiculous that Stoke have let him run his contract down like this. He was very happy 12-18 months ago so we should've pushed a new contract under his nose then. He's holding us to ransom now. It stinks. Apparently we did but its taken a while. Well that's altered my opinion of Bego a little if he has put us in this position. Surely a gentlemanly agreement on 24 months that he could leave would've almost doubled our return with no affect on him.

The problem with Bego is hes gone backwards, I'm sure its just a blip but he hasn't been his usual self this season so thats also going put clubs off.
