Personally, I'm not convinced that Stoke will bust a gut to hold on to him. I'm guessing that they are probably getting a bit tired of his delay in accepting our terms. If we didn't have a good (and younger) option in Jack Butland, they'd be worried. But we have another option and I think a decent offer will be accepted without too many regrets.

Just a way of saying he ain't going on the cheap. We will keep him for final year unless we get a fair offer.
Only an idiot publicly announces a need to sell because potential buyers then knock a couple of mil off their offer

Would be interesting to see if he does stay who would be 1st choice.
If we can get 8million cash in.

I'm sure Stoke would like to keep him and will be offering him a very lucrative new contract. But we all know Bego would like to play at the top level and every man has a price and Stoke could use the money where they need to strengthen the team. Stoke are bound to "talk up " his value.
I just hope Bego is sensible and doesn't sign for a club where he will sit on the bench all season apart from League Cup and Europa matches and let his talent ebb away.

I don't get this. It's sending mixed messages, especially to Jack Butland.
Move him on for as much money as possible.

I hope we keep him.
Give or take goal keeper is the most important position on the field for us and I suspect a Begovic & Butland combo. in some order is likely to be much better than anything else we cook up as an alternative.

There's no way that Butland would have signed that four-year deal without being given first team assurances. I'll be shocked if Bego is still here come September.

I thought clubs had to gain permission to speak to players who are still under contract? If this is so how come Scholes knows nothing about who Bego is speaking to?

I am being polite here - please move on Bego. We need to keep Jack Butland here. I am sick & tired of Bego's hissy fits & posturing. I would personally accept the best first bid

Begovic will go - it is just to which club and for how much that is to be determined.

Still can see him at Manu for about £8 million. Roma will be hoping he does not move this window as in January they can sign him on a Bosman. All depends in if De Gea moves

I'd want 10m from Man United. They'll get some decent money out of De Gea leaving.

Do you think there may be a swap deal involving Moses on the cards? Doubt it. Bego will not go anywhere to be a number 2. He spat his dummy out because he was dropped for Jack for 3 games, just think what he would be like just getting cup games at Chelsea

If I was Stoke I would take the first firm offer we get, as I can see him being to choosy and we end up missing out on a fee all together and he ends up at Roma on a Bosman in January

Any idea what sort of fee we will be looking for? Gutted the contract situation means we won't get the mega bucks we all expected for him. Surely still looking somewhere between £8-10m though? As much as we can get, we won't let this ride beyond this window. He either goes or he cannot find the club he wants then he has to sign a new deal at Stoke. The club have covered both outcomes with the new Danish keeper. If Asmir stays then Butland will be loaned out to another premier league club to keep his training up, if Asmir goes Jack is our number one. Butland only signed his new deal if he was guaranteed first team premier league games, whether that's at Stoke or on loan at a premier league side No he doesn't, he can sit around, go for free and maybe get a better deal, I'm guessing you weren't in this meeting you seem to know everything about.
