Question, in Jan it was claimed that Spurs didn't want to sell (Lennon) to a rival. So we think that's how the bigger clubs will view us now?

Can he play the Mama role?? Needs a bit of horse manure in his shoes for that role, but I think he would score bucket loads at Stoke!

We need a Pelle type player. Big and strong with half decent pace and movement with the ability to notch a few. The ability to bring others in is a distinct advantage.
Easier said than done because everyone wants one these days.
The higher profile one's cost a fortune. Mr Cartwright has his work cut out to find a cheap one.
Hernandez is one of a dying breed in the modern game...the little man to a big man. Shame really.

Wouldn't be surprised if he went to MLS. I bet some team would throw huge money at him as Mexicans seem to be really marketable in certain cities.

I didn't know whether or not to put the fact that he looks like a young lesbian as a pro or a con. I can't speak for anyone else, but.....

Look at his stats when starting games . It's shocking and the wages he on would you pay that for a ten minute man . No thanks a young hungry player anytime for me

I think he would be perfect for us. Big P and Little Pea up top works for me! So where do you play Bojan? Obviously left back , Hernandez must be on serious wedge though

He'd be a cracking option to have on the bench but somehow I don't think that option would play out...

Mexico usually plays a 5-3-1-1, so I think Chicharito knows what to do as a lone striker. The problem is whether or not he's still sharp enough to be effective in any capacity at this point in his career. He hasn't been a regular starter for club or country in years.

Playing as a lone striker in the prem is different though. You need to be strong and good in the air, generally.

He is the perfect sort of player if we are playing the 4-3-3 with Bojan just behind the striker threading the ball through.
Absolutely ideal and much better suited to that system than Ings or Austin.

I'd play 4,3,1,2. Bardsley, Shawcross, Muniesa, Pieters Walters, Nzonzi, Moses Bojan Crouch, Hernandez Bardsley and Pieters are good enough to overlap, and Walters and Moses are willing enough to put a shift in. Sticking two wingers in a central midfield three cause why the fuck not.

I think he'd be a great signing. Doubt we'd stump up the wages for him though. After seeing plenty of the Mexican national team here, he can work as the single striker plus he is a lot more composed in the box than Crouch and Diouf

Not unless we switched to 2 up front. Someone like Austin would be far more suited or the lad from Bournemouth. I'm certainly not writing off Mame yet though

Is Demba Ba a realistic target, he's the type of player who would be perfect in our system, or did we burn all our bridges there?

I certainly don't think he's 'too good' for us, in fact I think we're his level. However, seems to be one of those players who'd rather be a small fish in a big, famous pond. Doubt he'd be willing to swap Real Madrid for Stoke. He's like Owen, some big club will probably take him thinking he could contribute half a dozen goals as a last-15-mins occasional sub.

Mike Pejic thinks we should sign him in the summer.
Is he on glue?

Excellent, excellent player. But....can he play as the one up front? he's rubbish when he's not on a good team can't link up play for shite and can't play alone up front. for someone whose reputation is one of a deadly poacher, i've seen him miss a shocking number of sitters

He can't play as a lone striker but he'd probably work well in a 442 playing alongside crouch. I don't think we'd be able to afford his wages but he's a decent player

Mike Pejic in Sentinel.... As our thoughts turn inevitably to the summer and new signings, I'll throw the name of Javier Hernandez at you. Some might scoff at the very possibility of signing a player on loan at Madrid from Man Utd. But he's not getting much game time out there, and we could certainly offer him more of that here in Stoke. And let's not be shy about the greater pulling power we have these days. Finishing 8th would only add to the attraction of a club that's already raised the right eyebrows by signing the likes of Bojan.
I don't know the figure United would put on his head, but maybe a season-loan could be arranged? I'd love to see a player I liken to Gary Lineker here. He loves getting behind defences and is a constant threat in and around the area. His willingness to work and ability to anticipate will always generate chances, just like Lineker in his pomp.
His movement off centre-backs and ability to get in behind certainly reminds me of the ex-England man. The pair of them thrived in that 6-12 yard area and I bet he'd get 15 league goals if used in the right way. I'm sure Hughes would play to his strengths and not commit the mistake we saw from Roberto Martinez with Lukaku the other night. He already has been a target

id rather us go all out for Ings or Austin Austin or take advantage of Benteke's falling stock for me. For one I think Ings is off to Anfield and two I'm not sure he's what we need as the line striker. That formation to accommodate Crouch and Hernandez was scarily bad.
