Thought Wilson went about his business very well yesterday, in fact can't recall him being at fault for anything.
He's a great asset to have at the club.

Shawcross - tick Muniesa - tick With Huth now a Leicester player, I'm struggling now. Wllscheid will be Shawcross' partner in the long term. Can't say I'm thrilled with it but he will. wolly was motm by a mile yesterday. Calm, composed, he makes passing look simple which it is most of the time for some, pings it into midfielders feet when it's on. He looks great to me. He and ryan will be there for years to come. just makes me laugh how fans are so blinkered to football sometimes. They say it can take foreign platers a while to settle into the premier league. De Maria at united who cost nearly 60m, falcao etc yet we sign players of far less value like wolly and Diouf yet they are expected to not make any mistakes at the back and Diouf is expected to be firing them in.

Wollscheid was decent enough yesterday but some of his passing was dodgy and his mistake led to their one and only genuine chance of the game.
Wilson was the better of the two but he still worries me as well.

Either simple passes or ones pinged into midfield through the eye of a needle. I do wonder what some people watch when they are at games.

I watched one where he calmly and coolly passed it straight into the midriff of one of theirs in the first half and another where he pinged it miles ahead of everyone. If Whelan had done that he'd be getting slaughtered on here.

If you're picking two passes out of a young german new to the league centre back in 90 minutes then it's very harsh. I bet kompany misplaces more than two today at anfield.

Kompany will be lucky to make two passes the way he's playing. One thing Wollscheid certainly can do is pick a pass. It's the other side of his game which is a little concerning.

He misplaced only eight, which is good going, but if you're a 'ball playing centre half' and you're striding out of defence and under no pressure giving it away it's a lot more noticeable. I thought he and Wilson were decent yesterday overall.

Wollscheid is slow and cumbersome, its an issue.

There is always room for improvement. The central defending partnership will need to be addressed/worked on in the summer left and right full backs, pace and the ability to drop a ball on a tanner from 50 yards please. I have not been overly Impressed with Wilson BUT after yesterday I'm hoping he will become more confident. Everton will be more difficult for all the defence. So for now we talk them up and on Thursday...

Add this now to someone who is that comfy on the ball and can pick a pass to feet as good as ireland and I think we will have a great combination with ryan.

I see Marc Wilson as a utility player presently playing centre half and, doing a pretty good job for Stoke City. Yes He is clanger prone - but more often than not, pretty solid and always available when we really need him.
The slagging off of player who contribute in the way he does -especially on here, smacks of that classic 'pretentious premier league part fucking timer' style whinging that, such players are not a good as Franz Beckenbaur
the fella does us a good job (mostly) leave him alone, I say
last thing - there are certainly very recent times when we would've been in deep shit without him too - dont forget

Oh and so far the PW/RS axis in the few games they've played has looked dire.

Has anyone considered when such players as Woolshied look slow - against raw pace - its because the players that very, very, occasionally make him look like that, are actually, fucking greyhounds, that would make pretty much anyone look slow ?
anyone considered that ?

I thought Wilson and Wollscheid were both excellent yesterday. Hull were only able to have one shot on goal in 90 minutes.

I added 'very, very' as an afterthought too - doesnt happen very often - and good centre halve,s when they mature and read the game, learn to compensate
I think the lads a real prospect - yes sometimes he'll get caught but also - he'll learn

He's had some good games since coming (he was outstanding at Leicester) but it is a bit of a concern for me.

There really is some utter utter rubbish posted on here by people who you'd think should know better.
Name me a centre half on the planet who doesn't struggle with raw pace?

I thought Wilson was man of the match yesterday. Calm and composed he didn't put a foot wrong.
Wollscheid still reminds me of a stricken Gazelle who has just been tracked down by a Cheetah which has bitten a chunk out of his arse end.
