It's never a penalty Paul in a hundred years, hope this reply is short enough for you.
So you can pull a player's shirt in the box so long as you don't pull it hard enough to make the player go down Geoff?
A straight yes or no is plenty short enough actually.
In fact I'll make it even simpler ...
A = yes
B = no
Just answer by typing a letter chap.

It wasn't a tug Lakeland, I'm not even sure Moses would have felt it.

Would you have been happy if it had been given against us?
How do you feel about Sterling last season at the Brit?

Since when is shirt pulling not a foul? The title of this thread is designed to cause an argument, TP just said he agrees with Monk that divers should be punished, I think most people would agree with that, never mentions the actual incident. Nobody knows his view on the Moses incident, but some people want to start an argument.

I've watched it 20 times Dave in real time, if we give fouls/penalties for that the game will be stopped every few minutes.
If it takes me that number of views, how could the referee have been certain?

Bony didn't need to go down but he went down to draw attention to the infringement = penalty to Swansea.
Crouch stays on his feet and doesn't draw attention to the infringement = NO penalty to Stoke.
So both of these incidents have already happened prior to the Moses incident, it was absolutely clear what Moses had to do and I'd have been absolutely livid if he'd hadn't gone down.
I hope that answers your question mate.

The fact the ref didn't see it doesn't mean it wasn't a foul, justice was done in the end whatever the route we got there.

You haven't answered the questions at all.
1. If it was against us I would have been pissed at our defender for pulling his shirt.
2. I can't remember the specifics of that incident.
Do you think Moses should have stayed on his feet like Crouch did then?

This could all have been avoided if the referee said that he saw the pull and went to blow his whistle then, meaning that play had stopped when Moses dived. That would make the dive issue irrelevant, as it technically never happened.
Then again, that would be a blatant lie because he couldn't see the shirt pull from his angle and just gave the decision because he saw Moses go down with defenders nearby. Then we're in the territory of Rob Styles telling cameras 'I knew it was a penalty because Stevie G went down amd I know he doesn't dive', despite the fact it was an obvious dive.

1. And not pissed off with the player. With respect I have difficulty believing anyone who says that. 2. The one where he handled the ball then ran into our box and fell over under minimal contact and got a pen.
I'm glad Moses went down - it got us a penalty and a chance to get back in the game. I agree it is what the players have to do sometimes to get a penalty and the Crouch one was a clear foul. I can also see why the opposition would be seriously pissed off about such a soft decision.

So, in essence, both Rangel and Moses have attempted to con the referee? If the referee hadn't awarded the penalty, then Rangel would've been successful in his attempt. Yet it's the player who was actually fouled who's getting the shit thrown at him!

Well we're in agreement then.
My point was with Geoff, who was trying to suggest that some types of shirt pull are allowed in the box, when they're not.

A) a certifiable idiot B) a non-Stoke supporting wind up merchant.

A good start would be referees giving fouls and pens without the player going down, it seems a prerequisite to getting a decision these days.

Yet it's the player who was actually fouled who's getting the shit thrown at him! Basically yeah. Rangel was very stupid though, because I suspect the referee was itching to even things up as soon as he got the opportunity. I'm just saying that if the referee blew his whistle at the point of the foul, this wouldn't be an issue. The player who has escaped all the flak is Bony, who had two arms on Shawcross and then dived.
