I could say the same for McEwans, but to be fair,I actually enjoyed a pint of McEwens. Make your mind up which one is best. I was trying to remember crap lagers Craig! As a young man in the 80s I would drink just about anything, but Skol I remember as one to avoid. I said McEwens because it was the only other one I remember from back then! I'm surprised I can remember anything from the 80s to be fair. Harp as well,:-) It's all slowly coming back to me.

Arctic Light Hoffmiester GD In my youth there were very few lagers about......thankfully , so consequently I've never been a Lager drinker, only when on Holiday , when if you wanted a beer it had to Lager , but these days you can get " proper " beer in the British bars so that's less of a problem

Jaeger, I can't remember who made it but it was often advertised with Chequer bitter; so they had had most of your drinking total shite needs well covered.

never drank lager but remember Red Stripe Stoke were one of the first promoters of Red Stripe in the UK-through the efforts of Dudley Kernick. A decent lager from the Caribbean-more popular now than it was then.

Skol is available in big bottles in Malta and it tastes great, nothing like the Skol we get here. 5% for a start. Attachment Deleted

Labatts.
This thread is very subjective as it depends both on what you consider a shite beer, and the time period in which you deem to have spent your 'youth'.
Either way, Labatts was fucking horrible.

Anybody remember Crusader from the early 80s? It was a so-called 'dark lager' with the slogan, "brewed for an island race". Nasty stuff, like an ersatz German dunkelbier. Tasteless and insipid. In fact, pretty much like lager, except it looked like fizzy bitter.

Since moving south I can't say I've come across SKOL! Is it still about? I could say the same for McEwans, but to be fair,I actually enjoyed a pint of McEwens. I'm having a Skol now, lovely stuff, its now 2.8% rather than 3% because of the tax etc, before this i used to drink Homeister, again cracking stuff. They stopped 4x a few years back due to reclining sales. The problem is, is that i'm now so used to Skol that when i go to the pub the weakest lager is usually fosters at 4% & i'm gone after 3 pints... Carling C2 was a nice lager too, rare to get now despite it only coming out a couple of years ago. TEST
