Talking of decent lager, what about Bitburger? It's a rare find over here, but anyone who has spent time in Germany will know it well. Seriously hoppy flavour. I once came across a pallet full of the stuff in Lidl. I'd only popped in for a pint of milk and came out with about five gallons of German lager.

Bitburger sponsored Benetton and Michael Schumacher for yonks. I've never even seen it, let alone tried it. Is it rubbish?

It's one of the biggest beers in Germany, and one would imagine they know something about lager. Very occasionally, you find it in bars (often poured from a very ornate pump that dominates the whole bar) and even less occasionally, you see cans of it for sale (white cans with gold lettering). I was gobsmacked to find it in my local Lidl and was like a kid in a sweetshop. It's a typical German beer, strong hoppy flavour and not at all sweet like Czech lagers can be. Trust me, **************, it's a decent beer. Bitte, ein Bit!
