I feel it only seems like last minute panic because if Odem hadn't have gotten injured we wouldn't have been in the market at all, instead the club are reacting to a gutting injury sustained during Saturdays brilliant win, and I don't see Assaidi as bad cover for the season at all, I think he is going to prove alot of doubters wrong just as he did last season.. The pace in our forward line on the counter once he signs will frighten alot of teams! That simply isn't true. Regardless of Odemwingie's injury I think it is fairly safe to say that had Assaidi been available on favourable terms, we were always going to take him regardless of how early or late in the window that was. I agree with that, However he was being a bit of a nob'end about fees so we turned to Moses, if Odem hadn't have been injured we wouldn't have dipped into the window again, very happy with Assaidi and hopefully he has realised or will realise over the next season we are the right place for him he just needs to drop his wages from 50k-35k a week.. Boo friggin hoo!

If Odemwingie hadn't have got injured and we had word that Assaidi was available on loan on favourable terms or permanently a terms that were agreeable to us, we would always have been in the market for him. Its been a game of transfer cat and mouse and we've finally, seemingly, caught him. Assaidi was always the man to "complete our squad" I think and given the seriousness of Odemwingie's injury, I half surprised we haven't gone for 2 players today. Maybe we have?

A season long loan is perfect for us, another chance to really try him out before committing and a chance for him to prove himself before we fork out big money!!!

Not really arsed about this one. Greedy twat that wants too much cash so we spunk a loan on him. Dead money.

Let's face it ALL premier league players are on obscene wages. Yep. Have been thinking that it may be particularly a Brendan /Liverpool advisors disease as I've heard the twists and turns of Borini. He was reputedly asking for £90 g's a week. But you are right, while they can, they will. Human nature.

Hughes pretty much confirmed we had a good think about Lennon but signed Ossie on the basis we knew he would fit in and the legwork had been done.

So around 5 mil spent in total (including the signing on fees) and we have no doubt strengthened the squad and first team whilst all around us are spunking money left right and center...
Very happy with the window, lets push on blend the group over the international break and shove some of the cash down the idiots throats when we dick em! Shit hits the fan we have a nice warchest to play with in January!

Was talking to my mate yesterday and when I asked him what happened with Assaidi signing. When he asked said person at stoke last week if Assaidi was still coming, his response was "I wish it was only 45k a week he wanted". What the frig is he after then? Bonuses, more money or what? Greedy twat and apparently it's Assaidi asking for all this not his agent. Everything was agreed and then Assaidi changed the goal posts. Idiot, his loss!!! Could still be a cheeky loan he thinks. I'll give my mate a pat on the back for that one, good move by stoke as he's on 21k a week at Liverpool so we save there and paying a million loan fee too. Very clever business stoke. Glad he got real but I'm guessing Assaidi had no choice or face sitting in the Liverpool reserves.

Will Assaidi be able to play immediately or is he injured/unfit? Do we know what kind of pre season he has had?

I'd suggest he was being diplomatic in answering the rather direct question Will.
He could hardly have said that he'd have preferred to have signed Lennon.
