I'm very pleased with Assaidi. He is twice the player that Redmond is. He's already showed what he is capable of and that's enough for me.

Took his time but got here in the end. I hope we didn't give in to his (his agents) extortionate wage demand. But all the same an exciting player so get at em!

Barring injuries, I can't see him playing much.

The carry over from the permanent transfer debacle could, potentially, leave a bad taste & OK, the fee was down to L'pool but he must have been complicit in the ridiculous wage demands but, at the end of the day, LMH (& his team ) must be OK with that & hopefully all concerned have put it behind them and Ossie has his head in gear to make a real fist of it again this season.
One lingering concern on this front is his signing picture last night. Have you ever seen a more plastic and forced smile? Not sure I have lately.

I can't be arsed with him now. If he really wanted to come to us, he would have done before the season started. Instead his ego kicked in and he demanded silly money. He has a long way to go to prove himself again I imagine you wil be 'arsed' when he delivers a great performance / goal and helps Stoke to another 3 points I genuinely thought most people would see sense after the Diouf embasressment - Prove em wrong Ozzie

Welcome back Assaidi - you lucky so and so. Let's not delude ourselves, if this guy wanted to play for us he'd had told his grubby agents what to do before the season started. Granted Liverpool tried to rip us off and now it's cost them. But this guy doesn't cut it for me. Assaidi has a LOT to do and quick! Very sad about this - much preferred PO to be available (compared to Assaidi) - tragedy for the guy with his injury. Still, we can use him as an impact sub and then find someone else for next season (if PO struggles to recover).

Assaidi is a player who can get people on the edge of their seats when he gets near the opposition penalty box because his ability to score goals outside the box. Thats why MH wanted him and thats why he is a solid signing who will yet again score important goals for us.

Took his time but got here in the end. I hope we didn't give in to his (his agents) extortionate wage demand. But all the same an exciting player so get at em! Like nearly all loan deals he gets the wage he was getting at his parent club. In this case it is a relatively low £25k per week - and because it is so low (about half what he was asking for to sign a permanent deal) we will pay all of it plus a £1 million fee to Liverpool for the loan. Assaidi and Liverpool have lost out on what they would have received if we had gone ahead with the purchase when we agreed a fee with Liverpool and failed to agree terms with Assaidi. Result!

Not sure if this has been discussed but Odemwingie was a right winger and Assaidi a left. Is the plan to switch Moses to the right or can Assaidi play there. Sorry if this has been covered but can someone clarify for me. Cheers Moses is right footed and can play anywhere up top, out wide, or through the middle. Cheers mate, I had wondered if that was the case. Thanks

How fit is he? Did he actually get a proper pre season with Liverpool, or was he completely frozen out?

How fit is he? Did he actually get a proper pre season with Liverpool, or was he completely frozen out? 100% frozen out. Didn't play a second for any of their teams, even a run out with the U21s wasn't on the agenda. And didn't even get in their 33-man squad for their long tour of the USA. All their Academy squads were in Holland at that time - and he wasn't there either. So we'll certainly see what the benefits of a good pre-season are - because he doesn't seem to have had one at all! And he's only started *that* Fulham game since his injury in Feb. Presumably we're completely satisfied that his knee issues are totally gone?

Off Site"I've worked very hard and I've not had a long holiday over the summer," he revealed.
"With my injury I've had to train really hard with Liverpool; in the gym as well as out on the training pitch so I can't wait to play my first game.
"I've had a little bit of pain with my injury but now I am fit and hope to play."

"I've had a little bit of pain with my injury but now I am fit and hope to play." That's a bit more encouraging. I'd assumed the worst and expected he would have done most of his training on his own but if he has been doing it under supervision at their training centre then it will be match fitness he will lack. Sub appearances will sort that out - and that is probably the way we planned to use him anyway.

I love how now we've signed him its the agents fault... Exactly. He is the greedy cunt who ran out if options. I really hope he knuckles down and does a good job for us but I really don't like his type off the field. Shame that most of the live of the game by some players gets overshadowed by greed.

There are very, very few footballers who won't try to get the best possible deal for themselves. I hate the system that allows footballers to obtain the absolutely obscene wages that they do, but I don't blame any of the players or their agents for holding out for the best deal. It surprises me that so many people take offence at their actions.
Assaidi and his agent are only guilty of misjudging what we thought he was worth. So long as he does the business for us, I don't have a problem with him.
