its now more than somewhat overdue - there will never be a better time
mind you - we appear to have people lacking the vision and ambition, now very definitely holding our club back (AGAIN)
and I would say it to their faces given the opportunity
mind you this has never before happened to our club has it ?
(Im still quite frankly amazed, we actually moved ground)
but when all comes to all - we should have a 30k capacity ground right now - with a good product and ticket pricing designed to fill it (and I am talking both home and away supporters )
and the most cutting question 'they' should be made to answer RIGHT NOW - i.e. summer 2014 - is this:-
'So by your inaction in this regard - somewhere deep down, you really think this is as good as it gets ?

A few extra seats that are likely to be un filled is not holding our club back.

Ffs. We can't fill the ground now when the going is good. We will have loads of empty seats again if the shit hits the fan. Why should Coates pay out to have more empty seats? If you want seats for games you can get them. From where I stand in block 30 you can see empty seats all over and more than 2 or 3 together on some areas. No idea if any in the seddon or whatever it's called these days as I can't see but I guess there is. Like I said before I am not against the corners being filled in but not at the expense of match day atmosphere which I think would suffer if fans are spread about even more thinly.

If the South Stand Stokies would fit in the corner (doubtful) then there are certain games where we could sell out the entire south stand to the away support. This would potentially have a negative effect to the Stoke biased atmosphere and would probably not cover the costs associated to it. We'd get the media suite and hence an extra exec box revenue (when it's vacated).
Hardly surprising that we are dilly dallying over it.
Personally, I'd prefer see a Bet365 casino & function room built in the corner of boothen & west stand.

Personally I'd knock down the whole stadium and re-build on the old Victoria ground site.

I'm going to keep banging on about this one, periodically all summer long.
Im not going to let this one drop - Why? some of you may ask.
To annoy fellow fans ? no
To put an alternate view ? - well its not really alternative is it
I will tell you why
It is simply because, I see absolutely no reason why Stoke upon Trent and Stoke City cant step up to be a proper 'big city club'.
I'm thinking worldwide recognition and support - routine 30k plus crowds - top six finishes, fully embedded in the top flight living without the fear that is plainly still shown now by some in our club hierarchy
and lastly ==== WINNING THINGS
is it so unreasonable to have this expectation ? - this evolution, based upon what the last seven years and particularly, what happened last season ?
is it ?
and Part of that journey
at least - at the very least - especially whilst we are 'flush' ------ Finish the bloody ground off !
