Apparently we have no right to appeal (or so I've seen) and the deal's off?

Does this mean the contract is cancelled? If the decision stands then it cannot be fulfilled so it must fail.

Anyone know why the appeal failed? He meets absolutely none of the criteria required to get the permit.

Wish I knew where everyone is getting this from, I've not seen anything from the press association etc.
If it's twitter I'll wait and see until something marginally more reliable comes along....before throwing my toys out of the pram
EDIT- Oh there it is, official site!
OMFG God were doomed! Going down, going down, going down!

We can't get the lad anyone, absolutely brilliant, was genuinely hoping we got him, looks a player. Never mind same old Stoke failing with yet another transfer

Yes dead and buried. I assume it could be possible to seek a judicial review of the process but that would be expensive and in any event too long.

We'll take solace in the fact that Mark Hughes seems to be a bit of an IT whizz.
How quick was that up on the official site! Must be some sort of record.
Another PR victory with LMH and his boys keeping us fans in the loop every step along the way.
Communication via local media outlets and the official site has improved immeasurably over the past few months.
Rejoice!

Shame.
And probably unjust given the absolute dogshit players that've got one from the States in recent years.
But always the danger they were going to really clamp down on the borderline quality/unproven appeals in light of the foreign player debate.

Anyone know why the appeal failed? He meets absolutely none of the criteria required to get the permit. neither did Willian at Chelsea and their appeal rested solely on the gorunds of "If he wasn't Brazilian then he'd probably have played 75% of games for any other country" (i shit you not) and it was granted at appeal because a certain Mr. Mourinho gave that evidence to the panel! it's not what you know......it's what the name of your club is that counts!

I always thought we might get done on this one.
With all the noise about safeguarding English talent, we're an easy target especially when Agudelo is so unproven and raw. He may well go on to have a very good career, but he's no sure thing and is about as close to the USA team as me.
Our only argument was effectively "But look at the shit that you've let in from MLS in the past?!"

Having said that on the flip side we can say look how great Cameron has been... Oh well, heaps a bit more pressure on us, much needed before the Sunderland match.

can't we sign him and loan him out like arsenal did with joel campbell? and chelsea have done with Cuevas Wouldn't we have to loan him to an EEC country to qualify or similar? Not much use to us really. Can we marry him off? Got it, change his name to Brek Shea.

If it was the initial one it was likely to be refused, if it was the second, we're fucked. Amusingly disastrous though. Momo hold Your fingers for now! EDIT- well that serves me right for not reading on. Bit of a bollocks decision from the home office. Crack on Momo!
