Wasn't Austin denied a work permit for Stoke then granted a work permit for Leeds the very next year? The FA might just not like you lot very much. Let's ignore the time he spent in Norway in between shall we? Don't get what that has to do with it. He played well over 75% of the matches for Jamaica who were rank in the top 75 FIFA list. I thought that was the criteria, not that he must play in Europe as well.

This just makes the panel look even more stupid, than before. He can't be much good if Valencia want to sign him.

Good thing is that now we can start chasing PROVEN strikers who WILL help us vs gambles on young Americans from an average league. FINGERS CROSSED.

Proven strikers normally cost a lot of money & Stoke wont pay it. - they should do but they wont - Stoke will either have to go with what they have or take a gamble.

We should get him this Maltese passport. £500k and he is still a cheap player.

That'd be a kick in the teeth if he went Valencia.

Been watching him all his career. Not your typical American hard worker player like you have with Cameron, or a standard attacker like Altidore. Imagination, skill, all of the above. This one will hurt you once he succeeds at a higher level.
No respect for Americans + No respect for Stoke = this unfortunate situation.
Thought he should've made the jump to a top Spanish/Italian team years ago though, but MLS doesn't work like that. Stoke lucky they're even getting a shot at him in the first place after his development was botched by our fucking merry-go-round of incompetent coaches at NY, no offense of course when teams like Valencia want him.

With his Colombian heritage could there be a chance of finding him a lost Spanish Gran or something? I'm sure they've looked mind, if they haven't, they need to.

30th January 2013: 21 year old Brazilian Coutinho signs for Liverpool despite only playing once for 11th ranked non EU Brazil.
Months later 21 year old American Juan Agudelo is denied a work permit despite playing 17 games for 13th ranked USA.
Bollocks/corruption?

Neither, he'd been in Europe for three years (two in Italy for Inter Milan, one in Spain for Espanyol) before signing for Liverpool so having been in the EU for three years would've definitely helped his Work Permit application for the UK.
