I'm a big fan of Walters but he wasn't MotM. Had, much like the team, an awful first half but a good second. He'd be a good bench option if quality arrives though and I'm glad he got an assist today.

He was alright, although pretty ineffective. Etherington was my MOTM.

I can slate him because he starts every game, every week without fail, I can slate him because he is an incredibly limited footballer who we should have moved on from long ago, I can slate him because he cannot take even a half-decent penalty, I can slate him for scoring a paltry 22 goals in over 120 appearances.
I'm not putting a tin hat on because that's my opinion and I stand by it.

I'm often critical of him but he did do alright today. Pretty invisible for a lot of it, but did a fantastic turn in the second half and did well to set up Adam. Also his closing down was much more useful than usual.
Magnificent though? Hardly. He was better than usual but on the whole pretty average.

Unless in the first half (as we're most of the rest though)......
Better in the second, but we still need better!!!!!!!

I must be watching a different game because I thought he was awful, offers zero going forward and constantly fouling. Only crouch was worse.

He's just a total workhorse (nothing wrong with that). He does OK every game, but like noted before, doesn't really add any value to our play when we have the ball. He's great at closing down when we don;t have the ball but just lacks the class we need with the ball.

Like all the front line. Worked hard but did very little. Their defence had a comfortable afternoon until the midfiled pushed on.

Useful player to have on the bench though.

5 or 6 out of 10, 6 if he got an assist (I aren't sure), 5 if he didn't.

He was good second half, he pressed very well, looked dangerous and won possession a few times. Desperately needs to work on his shooting though.
First half he was shit.
Overall
8/10

Pieters MOTM for me, looks a great buy.
Walters was pk, but today showed how badly we need that bit of pace up front

Utterly ineffective as per. He set up the first goal with good awareness to lay it off to Adam when he could have (wrongly) shot himself. Always works very hard. It's just fashionable to dislike him apparently.

Obviously a matter of opinions but I tended to watch him closer than other players today and my overall impression was, he's dreadful , sorry.
Where to start, a vast majority of times when he received the ball the tempo completely stopped due to his lack pace and positional awareness and at times again and again far to close to Crouch to benefit from knock downs.
Impact sub at the best but again another 90 minutes under his belt, needs replacing IMO.

How anyone can say he played well is beyond any comprehension..he was awful. His first touch for a professional footballer is woeful.

I would have taken him off and don't think he was great, but some of the stick he gets is unbelievable. More than one occasion today he made the right decision, or a pass into him was poor and fans around me were getting on his back. I'm all for giving him stick when he deserves it but there was nothing he could have done about some of the things.
