On a cheap deal as back up for a new winger just about tolerable. If we are going with him and Kightly were fwcked. Hope Leslie does not try and put the wrongs of TP right to prove himself a better man it will be a big mistake. The likes of Wilko, Shotton, Ethers etc need moving on, this new manager and players perform differently stuff is in the main rubbish. Basically we have four or five decent player, hopefully we get three of four to come straight in and tolerate some positions until we can get rid. We have no even questioned if hughes will get season long loans in. Pennant to fight it out with new winger and the same with Shea, Ethers and Kightly need moving. have to say we need at least three wingers at club as an injury and we end up like last year.

If it is true, I'd hope to see Ethers and Kightly moved on - and 2 new wingers come into the fold to compete with Shea and Pennant. I'm finding it hard to get enthused about this one. I'm staggered for many reasons

JP needs to put a leash on her.
That'd be half the battle won.

Worrying that we are making do with a serial wrong un who has done nothing for 18 months. Is the transfer cupboard that bare?

Fuck Me! You've posted on a pre-existing thread! I would've thought this news would warrant a new self indulgent thread trumpeting the news.

Delighted at this one. Nobody can deny his love for the club. He's 10 times better than Walters on the wing and a fresh manager might help him.
Goorn JP make all us who called for you in the last 6 months proud!

So we sign a bloke who could not get a game in a very poor Wolves team and some people think this is a good deal.

I'm happy because I like him as a player and let's be honest he's still our most creative player by a mile. Some may argue that had TP kept Pennant onside he may still be in a job. I'd argue that Pennant was the prime reason we reached the cup final. All that said its a pretty controversial decision to resign him. My main concern is his age.

No we are signing, hopefully, a bloke who was not allowed to train and was sent to Wolves by the former manager. Not the first casualty of TP but thankfully the last. He just needs to prove to everyone including himself that it is the right decision.

I think this is a decent move by Hughes.
1. It could save us $4m on a right winger, if he gets back to form. He certainly could help if we keep a crouch or jones. 2. It allows us to concentrate on the other 4 areas of the team that need strengthening. 3. Pennant has a chance to prove Pulis wrong and has a chip on his shoulder to prove this. 4. We could always bring in a better player and use him as backup or an impact sub.
After all the recent pigs head, car egging etc... He may fit into the squad better than ever! ;-)

So we sign a bloke who could not get a game in a very poor Wolves team and some people think this is a good deal. True but as bad as it sounds I don't think Pennants Wolves form was down to ability. I'd put it down to him not giving a fuck. It's wrong on so many levels but I'd take him on the basis that he's a good footballer. As we know, good footballers and Stoke over the past 6 years or do don't go hand in hand!

Age is irrelevant if he has something positive to add which I still think he has. He's better than we've got at present!

I thought it was Tuncay Though I agree with the age concerns he's 30 now 31 in January I think these 2 years will be it, that's assuming he doesn't pick up any injuries. Though if Pennant is going to play every week I think this could well be the end of Adam as I think we'll play 4-4-2
