I agree, if this is the extent of the change there was no point doing anything at all This is all happened very quickly though so there must be something to it I'd genuinely rather have Pulis back. Yeah Well if you're gonna have a change, have a change, this is just a waste of time

Not only this hes an absolute liability in the market and has been credited with crippling both Sunderland and Villa. That aside his football is dire and hes hardly youthful.

Joke! Don't want him here, good manager in the 90's but he wastes more money than Pulis!

I'd genuinely rather have Pulis back. Even having MON as manager will move us forward light years. No Sunderland jokes please

At least he's not a cunt like Hughes but this is no change to Pulis really...same style Somewhat for the young and vibrant manager

MON must be P Coates doing, as surely no fucker else would consider him.
Where is this new direction we are looking in. it aint 2001 anymore.
If it is him or Hughes I bloody give up , managers who at the time of their sacking their clubs where 17th and 20th.
Great vision

MON is far from my first choice, but as a paid-up member of the ABP club I'd still have been happy enough to know that MON would be manager if you'd said this would be the case a week ago. I still think people are getting wound up for nothing though. We've now had at least four managers who the bookies have installed as favourites since Pulis went, and most of their activity seems to be generated by what's posted on here. Stay calm. It'll all be fine

Fecking hell...I hope this is Coates messing about for his Bet 365 takings I used to like O'Neil but he just hasn't done it since he was at Villa, I know it wasn't that long ago but Sunderland were worse than us this year from the games I saw. Was it a blip? Anyone convince me O'Neil still has it and is a better choice than Hughes?

the yanks have crippled sunderland and villa Certainly wasn't 'the yanks' that crippled Sunderland. Ellis Short has been nothing but brilliant for the club.

Short bought the club when it had been sorted out by Quinn and co, MON did not like the yanks sticking there nose into team selection etc (same at villa) the yanks what to run clubs like american baseball teams, cheap head lines, directors of this and that, they see the premership as another franchise or money spinner not as clubs for supporters

The whole point of getting rid of Pulis was to change direction, not rely on considerable financial backing, look to developing youngsters and above all get us playing positive football. O'neill is the epitome of everything we need to avoid. That aside hes demonstrated at Sunderland that hes capable of not only crippling clubs on and off the pitch, but is perfectly capable of getting an expensive squad relegated.

Probably best you stop now before you make yourself look even more stupid.

This for me if we are getting rid of Pulis we need to try a new direction not one of the same ilk otherwise what was the point in the first place?

Corossi, what do you mean agenda ridden perspective, Also here Quinn could be coming aswell Niall Quinn didn't appoint O'Neill, and was never his Chairman. He has no connection with Martin O'Neill at all and left full time football because he now has his own satellite broadband company in Ireland that he runs. The two have no connection at all.
