This source of mine doesn't do bullshit or false rumour-mongering.
Apparently, RDM has already agreed to become Stoke gaffer in the Summer. I don't post rumours for the sake of it.
The odds in some quarters have been slashed from 66/1 to 6/1 in some quarters on Di Matteo next Stoke boss.

If only....
That would be an ace appointment for me if true. Young, plays good football and no doubt has decent contacts.

They did tumble quickly this morning, but probably not much to read into it? Stoke manager oddsDi Matteo odds are tumbling for some reason. 33/1 to 14/1 to 6/1 in the space of a couple of hours this morning. Probably doesn't take much at all to shift them, but semi-interesting.

I thought bookies only offered odd`s on managers when a position became vacant or do I have it wrong.I know that used to be the case.

Pros: Young, won trophies, worked with some of the best. Cons: Jury still out massively. Got West Brom up, looked an awful lot like taking them down. Chelsea might've won the Champions' League but he also led them to their lowest league finish in what, a decade? More?

If there was any truth in it, and it was a done deal, surely he'd already be installed with a £500k bonus for survival?

I'd take that faster than I'd take Jessica Alba acceptingly thrusting her minge in my face.

For all the talk of RDM having a different philosophy to TP, there's no question that in the Champions League he got chelsea playing in a way that must have had the capped one drooling.

I'd be massively underwhelmed with this because he's still massively inexperienced hrs not done a full season in management.
Plenty of experience would probably be my number 1 priority in choosing a new manager

Plenty of experience would probably be my number 1 priority in choosing a new manager Pochettino, Villas-Boas, Clarke and Laudrup are 4 examples of inexperienced managers who have done very well. There are no doubt examples of the opposite, but I don't think experience is always a good thing... Pulis has plenty of experience?

A few points covered suggets that Di Matteo may not fit the role here. Not sure that MON is what we need though. Come the end of the season, managers will move on creating a few more without a job / wanting to manage at a higher level??? There is also a selection out there who are currently unemployed as managers I wouldn't be surprised if PC has got someone lined up who is prepared to take the job even if we are in the championship I believe that TP will resign / step down in May

If he joins, he's more than welcome to bring Lukaku with him on loan; providing he still has his Chelsea contacts.

Both interesting pieces Grapey. Doesn't entirely fill you with confidence that he's a man to lead you out of adversity but seems a decent bloke. Yeah. I wouldn't really know what to make of Di Matteo. 3rd place with MK Dons in League One and a play-off semi defeat in his first season in management. 2nd place in Championship with West Brom with 91 pts. Sacked after picking up 26 pts from 25 games at WBA in first season up. Difficult to know what to make of his spell at Chelsea when compared to what anyone else could have done. Seems harsh to demean a Champions League win - but they did win it with Stoke tactics, and with what seems to have been a remarkably self-managed squad, who a trained chimp (or Avram Grant) could enjoy relative success with. It's not a bad CV by any means, is it? But it's just a hard one to assess, especially in light of those articles from Lepkowski which appeared to question his hunger and suggests he was very hands-off character

Or would you perhaps make sure he has a strong assistant alongside him so we get the best out of both worlds in a sense? Tell Kemp to leave if RDM joined and brought a competent assistant in with him, it could work.
