Personally I'd prefer Benitez, he'd be a top appointment. So would I, but I'm sure he'll be at a club in the Champions League somewhere.

Always said I'd take him like the crown jewels. Can't see it though. He could get any job really. I rate him quite a lot.

got VERY lucky in champs league with chelsea Didn't he win that competition by playing defensive football & one up front? Would Stoke fans accept that style again with another Manager?

That wasn't how he set up every game though was it? They were down to 10 men in the Nou Camp and had half their first team out in Munich.

The only reason I'd want Di Matteo is because he isn't Tony Pulis.
If Pulis is to go, I would hope for someone better than him in all honesty.
His job at Chelsea was an absolute fluke courtesy of him sitting back and letting the players rule the roost.
I wouldn't have any real faith in him myself which might not necessarily be a bad thing

So what would happen under Robeto di Matteo? You might play more attractive football and finish a few places higher. Of course you might play more attractive football and get relegated. From the games I have seen on T.V, I have always found Stoke exciting to watch.

We're the lowest scoring team in all four divisions for the second consecutive season.

Hmmm, he's always seemed a very hit and miss manager to me. If we stay up this year I couldn't see somebody like Di Matteo keeping us up for a further 5 years if I'm honest.

That's the best one I've heard for a day or two on here. 5 minutes on match of the day at half 11 when you are pissed up would make anyone think that we are exciting

I don't think there would be any danger of Kemp still being here if Pulis wasn't!

wow why do people want RDM ? sacked by west brom, got VERY lucky in champs league with chelsea and wouldnt have got near either job if it wasent for who he was when playing football would rather have pulis to be perfectly honest Oniell is the only manager i would have Hang on, he GOT LUCKY playing Pulis-style tactics against Barca- presumably TP would 'be lucky' then had he won a two-legged tie employing such tactics against, say Man Utd then? Or would you be hailing him a genius? The difference is, that was Barca- RDM wouldn't employ such an approach against sodding Fulham. FortressBritannia- I get the impression you'd be underwhelmed with anyone who wasn't Pulis mate. Like I say, I'm not in the habit of posting rumours for the sake of it. I've heard this is a done deal.

The same people moaning about evolution? Sorry but if we were to replace the manager I'd want someone who could at least break in to the top 10 (I'd rather win first, look good 2nd) it's certainly achievable if you look at even slightly improving our away form.

I'm not sure that this would be worth the risk of change.
The thing that has struck me most about RDM is that he seems to really struggle when results go against him. Not sure how well he copes with adversity.

Would be very disappointed.
If we did survive this season, he would be just the man to get us well and truly relegated next season.
Fortunately it's thevoid so it's definitely bollocks!

I've heard this is a done deal. Roberto di Matteo is red hot, even money, favourite for the Leeds job. So even if you put to one side the fact that he was sacked at WBA after 18 months and by Chelsea after 8 months and doesn't look for one moment like he has the kind of authority Peter Coates would like from one of his managers then I would say this one should be placed on the 'won't happen' pile.

Apparently he was backed into evens from 50s yesterday morning. But the stories since then seem to suggest it isn't going to happen. 1ROBERTO DI MATTEO is set to snub interest from Leeds and wait for a bigger job offer.2The 42-year-old has been installed by certain bookmakers as a short-odds favourite for the position, however a close friend said there is “no way” Di Matteo will join the Championship club at this stage of his career.

I'll still say it won't happen for the less scientific reason that Peter Coates won't appoint a man who looks like the victim of too many male grooming products. Oh, and we already have a manager
