the rumour i heard was that ray wilkins would be his number 2 and thats the bit that worries me Chelsea only struggled under Ancelotti once he lost Wilkins. I wouldn't have a problem with him as No2, and think he would be good experience alongside RDM.

all this reliable source stuff is such bollocks! we hear it all the time, i mean come on, if there was really someone probably risking his job to give you this information they'd be pretty pissed if you started a topic about it on an internet forum.

This source of mine doesn't do bullshit or false rumour-mongering. Apparently, RDM has already agreed to become Stoke gaffer in the Summer. I don't post rumours for the sake of it. The odds in some quarters have been slashed from 66/1 to 6/1 in some quarters on Di Matteo next Stoke boss. Wouldnt want him, he was hyped at Chelsea, a team already sorted

Staff down there are definitely talking about replacements, I was told Gary Neville or Solskjaer, but I don't think they really know what is going on at that level, any more than we do.

Personally I'd prefer Benitez, he'd be a top appointment. He wouldn't come here. I'd go for the young, unproven manager route, but I'd go for Gary Neville & Phil Neville (player/coach).

I hate myself for pedantry of this order, but I don't think Ferguson has ever been out of a job. He got sacked from St Mirren (the only time he's been sacked), but from what I remember he went straight to Aberdeen. Agree with your general point, though I'd say being sacked ticks the 'out of a job' box. But I think he was sacked because he'd already agreed to go to Aberdeen. I'm sure I read that in the Press & Journal at the time....

I really doubt this one, DiMatteo doesn't strike me as a Peter Coates type manager, I could be wrong, but I think any potential new manager chosen by Coates would probably be British (with the exception of Benitez) and they would likely have far more experience than DiMatteo.
I think Coates is far more likely to go for someone along the lines of alan curbishley/Martin O'Neill and possibly steve maclaren.

Wank appointment! Di Matteo out His tactics are too modern and open. We need a manager who plays a style to give less goals away. More defensive like.

Void. I'm not really concerned whether or not your information is correct or not. By posting this now do you really think its of benefit to our cause at the moment which does not need debate.....survival. Posts like this and others that create a "frenzy of who should be manager" posts do absolutely nothing to help.
Please people lets be "one" until the end of the season

The key is links in my opinion. A manager who knows everybody and everybody wants to play for. A manager who knows the game and it's people like the back of his hand. Thats why laudrup has been so successful. He has contacts.

Without trying to cast any doubts on what The Void has posted I spoke to my man at the Stoke about what The Void posted his reply was "oh right I've not heard anything about that, he would be a good choice to replace Pulis though", I suggested that Pulis wouldn’t be going anywhere and all he said was that there's a lot going on behind the scenes and that if Coates was going to appoint someone he wouldn't make it wouldn't happen until things were 100% sorted out with Pulis first. Gouranga.

Neville could be a gamble worth taking though. No experience at all is a massive risk but he clearly knows his stuff.

I'm still optimistic that Rafa will be the man.someone previously mentioned about things getting sorted with Pulis first, that is definitely the case. He won't be sacked that's for sure, he will be offered a new role at the club which he probably won't take preferring to resign due to family reasons or something similar.that way he can walk away with his head held high, proud of all he achieved at Stoke.Coates looks after his friends and Pulis is undoubtedly among them. And so to another great friend of the Coates family...Rafa. Some seem to think he's beyond our reach, maybe so, but he's a firm favourite with some of the Bet365 clan. We can only wait and see, whoever it is won't be here til summer so lets get behind the lads until then, play our part and hope they play theirs.
