My dad, died Nov 1, 2006 the last time he spoke to me was in the Douglas MacMillan home ,I was going to the match with my daughter and we beat Norwich 5-0 I gave him the news. A few days after he remained unconscious until he died. A top man, never heard him swear (infront of my mum!) didn't drink or smoke at all. He introduced me to Stoke in the early seventies and he would have been chuffed at what was going on now. Still miss you every single day Dad and wished we were going together with the kids tomorrow..

If I maybe so greedy as to have two 'do it fors'
1) I won't name her for fear of embarrassing a couple of really good mates but please do it for their mum who passed away a couple of years ago. She brought two top blokes and ST holders into the world as well as good stokie girl. Between them all they turned me into a Stokie and since 1991 i have never looked back. All the good times at the matches, the chat about my exploits and suitcases full of pie/pudding and chips on the way back from the away games have given me some of the best times ever. So thanks to their mum from me and Gooaaaarnnn Stoke do it for Mrs B.
2) My dad, havent lost him yet, but at the age of 59 has been told his cancer is terminal and we just dont know how long he has got. He doesnt really follow a team but loves footy. We always banter about my beloved potters to the point now I feel he is an adopted stokie and always looks for their result first. He then gets on the phone and the first words are 'Come on you pooootttttteeeerrrrrsss!!!
Before he got the cancer he always said that he didnt think he would see us in the prem before his time but he would love to, to see the pride on my face.
So stoke if you can and i know you will try your hardest do it for my ole man and gives us the last big crack together (football wise) by getting us to the promised land.
GOOOAAAARRRRRNNNNNN STOKE!!!!!!

My uncle David (Baskey, Abbey Hulton, c.1978) - used to laugh at him pissed on a Saturday night watching MOTD around my nan's. Stoke mad and known to many fans who travelled home and away in the 70's.
Fran (Blurton 92/93) & Knoxy (Fenton, ex Blythe and Milton late 90's)
- both lads in their prime who left us too early.

I'm not going to name my particular names, they weren't big Stokies but I'll be thinking of them at the Brit tomorrow all the same.
Just reading this strand, with more than the odd tear in my eye, says everything about Stokies and Oaties being the best. God bless to everyone who's facing bereavement and family illness right now. You know you've always got good friends here.

stokemark, you beat me to it on doing it for brendan(janne), met stefan and some of his friends last week in the rocket and we were talking about how much we miss him at games and how much he would have loved all this.
also my dad who passed away 4 years ago, i will take a lingering look at his wall of fame plaque tomorrow and i know he will be watching over us all. its time like this i really miss him and his shout of 'city' in a banbury accent trying to do it as a stoke accent. jeez, i feel quite emotional with it all.
all this just to get into the premiership, i can't get my head around the mix of emotions and turmoil that is in my head at the moment, how on earth do the players concentrate, they must be under enormous pressure to perform knowing how many people are relying on them, i wonder if i could handle that sort of pressure.
