SSV, i believe an enhanced contract has been agreed since his initial signing although i can't recall when, i stand to be corrected though but it wasn't all that long ago, i don't think edit: not quick enough for fire fingers FM

The last mention of a new contract was November '09. I don't think he foresaw us signing a keeper who would legitimately challenge his place. I would agree with that mentality and thought process. I would say it's downright stupid though - given the amount of times he left us in the lurch from "injuries" in warm ups. The 3-0 debacle at Blackburn and the Tottenham game instantly come to mind. There were a few others aswell. The manager dropped him a few times and those injuries seemed to magically disappear when he returned. As much as Begovic called the managers bluff with his Chelsea tantrum, the manager called Sorro's bluff. The only sad ending to this is it seems he is going to leave us for another teams bench. Can't blame the bloke as i'd do the same in his position. I just don't like the whining about contracts though, when the original deals were happily agreed by all parties.

I guess it'd be Bellamy or SWP then for Sorro? Or both if we're a bit canny. After all, they don't want either of them on the wage bill...

We need some back up but I can't see him being happy with that. Yeah we might have Europa games and what not but still it'll be hard keeping 3 front line wingers happy.

We definitely need some cover out wide though and I think TP would have a massive hard-on for him (SWP that is.)

Could we be looking at Nedum Onuoha?
He`s been totally frozen out at Man City and is the kind of versatile defender we are looking for. Perhaps he could become part of any deal involving Sorenson?

Decent player but had a few injury problems last season. So yes, we're almost certainly looking at him.

My perception from a distance was that he did well, but they have not made a move for him permanantly which seems a bit strange.......

Didn't Onuoha recently state he sees his own future as a centre half? Personally, I see him as a very solid full back.
Thoughts on this?

Would Stuart Taylor fancy being a number 3 at Man City, or might we take him?
Or has he moved on this summer?
Not that I particularly rate him, but I guess we'll struggle to land a number 2 keeper we'll rate.

I agree, I just think it'd be hard to work unless one of them was out injured for a long time. I'd much prefer Weiss as he can cover both wings too.

Onouha would be a good shout, but he is avoiding sunderland due to wanting to be CB, not RB, and you know where Pulis would play him.
As far as three wingers goes I think that's the easiest of positions to have 3 players for. Pennant is injury prone, both the ones we have get kicked to fuck, and TP subs one or both of them in almost every game.

Whereever Sorenenson goes in The Premier he will always be second fiddle I'm affraid . So he would be better staying and play the cup matches, you never know he could finish up playing more than Bego ..

Tommy has proved his worth and we should not consider letting him go lightly.
There are not that many experienced keepers knocking around and he has kept AB on his toes.
If Man City then we'll have Nigel De Jong, that would be good business the kind of business that I would accept.

£2 million for a player who can and will leave on a free next season is decent business.
Having Kirkland as Your back up is risky though.

Sell bego..... Jesus some people are mad, id sooner see Tommy go on the basis hes getting older, we could probably get a nice fee for him right now if we kept him on then his value would surely drop... Plus Bego is getting better and better hes young worth 3 times as much as Tommy and in the future we could get a large fee if some top clubs were after him..
There are keepers out there that can come here and do a good enough job as number 2 im sure..

But the club's price tag on national team goalkeeper standing into further in the way of the Dane's dream.
"It is clear that the longer it goes and if they keep the price evaluation, they have laid, I'll be hard, because I only have one year left on contract," says Thomas Sorensen.
"He (manager Tony Pulis) said 2 to 2.5 million pounds," says Thomas Sorensen for his price tag.
"You are always frustrated when not playing. I said that last year, even though I played in the FA Cup and it was a great success. Yet it is not satisfactory," says the Danish national team goalkeeper, who will soon want to get solid playing time again.
"If I can play somewhere, so it has priority."

"If I can play somewhere, so it has priority." How does that fit in with apparent interest from Man City, where he would be more of a spectator to Joe Hart? I wish footballers would tell the truth. He isn't interested in playing more games. He just wants a contract that isn't heavily weighted towards appearance bonuses.

I really hope we don't have to go looking for another goal keeper. You'd think with cup games and quite possibly Europa League games, Sorensen would get plenty of game time?
