That won't be TP's plan then. He won't be here in five years, not managing anyway. I think he will. I would hope that Coates and TP have some sort of long-term plan to make the club self sufficient! Ben Marshall didn't have faith in the Pulis plan. Nor will others.

Most of them will stay because we're in then Next Gen/U21 bollocks next year ;D That should see the likes of Bachmann, Dawson, Rossi etc progress a bit more instead of sitting in the reserves. Think Flo might be able play in it too, if he's still here

After his performance yesterday against a very strong derby side there will be even more teams coming to look at him! Did not look out of place at all! Great point for the whole team! Give them all great belief going into monday nights game! Hopefully Dawson will be fit for it after going off injured!

Success for Academies or Centres of Excellence has to be measured by meeting expectations of why they are established in the first place. According to the FA the purpose of Academies is to identify players of outstanding ability and place them in a technical and educational programme designed to produce football excellence in conjunction with personal development.
Many fans of clubs look and wonder where their success is coming from. One Michael Owen for Liverpool had seen them recoup all of their Academy investment but then add Gerrard and Carragher to the list and their return is obvious. Man Utd's Academy success is there for all to see in terms of returns on investment and expectations, as is Crewe's once famous Academy.
Then we look at Stoke City's Academy and the desire of Peter Coates to put it firmly in the Premier league of Academies.
How will success be measured and when will that expectation deliver?

I don't think Debayo and Musungu have left. Really not sure about Sinclair.
You hear nothing of Koroma though and in the last few match reports there have been a few names I haven't heard but have no clue who they are. Cook and Richards from last night for instance.

Think Sinclair has gone? Even if he's still here, he's a 3rd year and he's not played in a few months. At least Ryan Brunt has got himself about with a few loans.

In Middlesbrough's FA Cup game v Sunderland 8th February, which they lost 2-1, in the second half they played with nine ex-Academy local players (even one from Perth Australia who'd been there since he was 13 years old).

I was speaking to one of the Academy keeper coaches last night who tells me Daniel Bachman got a infection in his back some time ago, cleared off and hasn't been seen since.

Mark, that sounds to me as negative spin on a young keeper with a serious injury. twitter.com/#!/DBachmann1

Mark, that sounds to me as negative spin on a young keeper with a serious injury. twitter.com/#!/DBachmann1 Im not putting any spin anywhere. Im just saying it how I was told it. Its clear that some of the staff hadn't been updated as to what was going on. Im pleased to see above there is some good news as for my money this lad is by far the better of the two youth keepers on the books.

What is the purpose of Stoke City's Academy? To create debate and give you & Mark something to bash Pulis with! Edit - (to save you the effort) - And no - it is certainly not to develop new talent!!

Do you think I rely on that to bash Pulis with, Kav? Fuck me I can leave that to everyone from Noel Blake onwards who are much better qualified! The good news is for you that you are a safe distance away from what is being passed off as football on a match day and you can just read the result! ;D Thats proper Pulis bashing material!

Cheers Mark, no I'm sure you can find more things to "to have a go with" than you can point a stick at (as they say out here). The good news is that thanks to "Austar/ESPN/Setanta" I can get up at ridiculous O'clock to watch all matches - home & away. And I do agree with most that in some of the games we do seem to have a bit of trouble competing effectively. However, it does not make me angry and want to insult or scream at the players and Pulis. It is very disappointing to see my team made to look second rate, which at times they are. But they are still MY team and I truly love watching all the games - good & bad. And good defensive football is an important part of the game and can, in its way, be just as exciting as good attacking football.
