you could have phrased that differently Joe....
my boss at my old job (a Norwich fan) insisted the entire 1981 Norwich team & manager was gay

Wouldn't bother me. I work alongside many gay people in my profession. Seeing them at the footy wouldn't make much difference.

I don't care how gay he is, if he can do a quick one-two around an overlapping half back !! He can be as camp as he likes if he can drop a long ball right at a centre forwards feet ! He can mince the entire length of the pitch if he can tuck one in the corner of the net at the end of it !! Sexuality don't matter ,you hear ? sexuality is nothing to do with it ...I don't care if they're white gay , or black gay ,or brown gay or Italian gay ,I don't care if they're tall gays,or short gays ,or gays from Ireland ,or gays from Austria or gays from blooming Timbuk-bloody-too !!! Sexuality isn't important ,do you hear ? It's nothing to do with bloody football !!! The ONLY thing that matters is how they play, the machine inside them , that pounds away for 90 minutes. ...with thanks to Ripping Yarns ( Golden Gordon ) for inspiration ;D

Couldn't care less but I dread to think what some of the hate brigade on this board would post about it. The 'I'm entitled to my opinion', 'PC gone mad', BBC is run by Commies', Daily Mail reading bigots would go into overdrive.
I don't think the large majorioty of fans would care less, just the same as the first female PL linesman would have almost passed without comment if it wasn't for those fatheads at Sky.

Everyone seems happy for Stoke to have a gay player but I think it'd be fair to say he'd receive dogs abuse if he played for someone else.

I don't think most people care. However, some of these same people would use his gayness to abuse him if he started missing sitters or couldn't string a 2 yard pass together on a consistent basis...and I would have no problem with this. If you profess to be a profesional footballer then verbal abuse goes with the territory. A ribald dig at his sexual orientation, nationality, colour, race etc. is ok at a footy match if you feel the need to verbally abuse a player. However, I do not think this kind of abuse (or any abuse) is acceptable if you were to meet the same player in public. Does this make me a hypocrite?

I wouldnt mind. He cant help it if he is gay. However, if he walked round with tight leather trousers and all the camp clothing, then he would undoubtadly need a slap.

"A ribald dig at his sexual orientation, nationality, colour, race etc. is ok at a footy match if you feel the need to verbally abuse a player."
the law says differently.
"each to their own, but i don't know if id like gay stoke players, it would be make me look at them differently"
then you, my friend, have a problem
