I don't care how gay he is, if he can do a quick one-two around an overlapping half back !! He can be as camp as he likes if he can drop a long ball right at a centre forwards feet ! He can mince the entire length of the pitch if he can tuck one in the corner of the net at the end of it !! Sexuality don't matter ,you hear ? sexuality is nothing to do with it ...I don't care if they're white gay , or black gay ,or brown gay or Italian gay ,I don't care if they're tall gays,or short gays ,or gays from Ireland ,or gays from Austria or gays from blooming Timbuk-bloody-too !!! Sexuality isn't important ,do you hear ? It's nothing to do with bloody football !!! The ONLY thing that matters is how they play, the machine inside them , that pounds away for 90 minutes. ...with thanks to Ripping Yarns ( Golden Gordon ) for inspiration ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Thank you Golden Gordon

Its all very well asking our opinions ( the fans ) view of having a gay footballer within our ranks. But how would it go down in the dressing room ? Surrounded by plenty of blokes ( some good looking, some not quite so good looking ) who are taking showers and are at most of the time naked/semi naked within the dressing room. If there was a gay player, he could not help but be 'turned on' by this, it would be natural for him, stick me in a room full of half naked/naked women i'd be highly delighted ! Now i have no prejudice agaisnt gays, i just know showering and being naked around one of them would make me on uncomfortable......and whether its right or wrong, if we had an openly gay player at our club, it could be potentially detrimental to us attracting other players......or on this flip side it could attract more players Either way, I just don't see what good it does to openly come out in the media and tell the world your sexual preference, do heterosexual sportsman come out and tell the world they're straight ? No....I see no point other than to cause a stir or gather media interest.

There are gay footballers, and they are advised by the best in the business to keep their mouths shut due to the deluge of abuse that they would undoubtedly receive. You would imagine however that their team mates would know, though it was nice to read some views from the 70's from our dear homophobic friend Parkerson (at least you didn't use the phrase "backs to the wall" i suppose)
It is a sad indictment of both the society that we live in and the game that we love that players make the decision to keep their mouths shut in order to escape abuse, because in all likelihood the would get more than scumbags like Marlon King.
John O'Shea is referred to as John O'Gay by the united faithful, so some of them are not as well hidden in the closet as they might think.

That was the chant wasn't it. So wrong but so funny.
Does it really matter? Does it buggery!!!!!!!!!!!!
O'Shea got married last year didn't he? Mind you so did Elton John!

So you're homophobic? Fantastic. What is wrong with society in the 21st Century where people still look down on gays as some weird creatures? Who gives a shit what they do in their private life?

Being gay and a top sportsman must be tough - but some manage it: www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2010/may/04/gareth-thomas-gay-interview-crusaders , although Thomas did leave it until the twilight of his career to open up.

As I walked through London's Soho, with my wife, on the night of that head butt by Pulis vs Arsenal I saw what I believe to be a certain Stoke player in the que for the Rainbow bar.
Just saying.

No problem at all for me, but the first few to come out will need skins like rhinos I suspect. Really hope the LMA, PFA and FSF can lead the way together over this.

I doubt we'll see it for quite some time, as for me and how I view homosexual people? It doesn't bother one bit and why should it, a person shouldn't be judged for who they find attractive.
I don't know why it bothers some people, if they think that homosexual people fancy every single person they set eyes on and are scared they may come on to them then that's just damn stupid.
