i hope tp isn't thinking of playing whelan in place of whitehead, this youth must wake up and think it's christmas every day, to play premier league football and be a current international when he is the most talentless, bone player we have signed. for christ sake tone, think about wilson or tuncay to do that job as a one off, who knows we might beat united, and knock it abite a bit at the same time.

Agreed if the lad plays get right behind him FFS, and dispense with the Whelan you are shit jibes after one or two mistakes.

On the interview on the Player thingy today TP says he's given Whelan a couple of days off this week because he's "tired". He also says that Wilson has trained well, but then Salif is available "if we want to go with experience". So I think it'll be
1.Salif 2. Wilson 3. Whelan

If Tuncay is near CM against the shit we will be crushed in the middle and be heavily beaten. Whelan has been atrocious for Ireland recently and I would play Salif or Wilson ahead of him but as is the general consensus, I would expect to see Salif starting

I have a feeling we will go with a midfield of -
Etherington Diao Delap Whelan Walters
With KJ on his todd up front
Horrible thought but I always tend to 'think the worst, hope for the best' when it comes to team selection these days.

Diao played well at Newcastle. The only people who faield to see that were the ones who have a pre conceived opinion of him.
