It was my husband that was unconscious on the floor after the match, he returned home 24 hours after the game with a broken nose and injury to the head. He has supported stoke all of his life and whilst i can tolerate the trouble after a football match i cannot tolerate that my 13 year old son went to the match with his dad, was witness to this vicious attack and then out of fear when he tried to run away the disgusting manc fan grabbed hold of my son and started to kick him. What grown up person can do this to a child??? I hope the man who did this can live with himself. My son would like to thank the lady passerby that stopped to help him, my husband and their friends and stayed with him until the ambulance came. It just goes to show there are still some decent people out there. What should have been a family day out turned into a nightmare!!!! Not sure if you saw my earlier post on this thread but it was me and the girlfriend who stopped to help out, more so her than me with the kids. I will pass the message onto her from your son, just glad to hear that your husband is back home and wish him a speedy recovery and hope that this experience doesn't stop your husband, son or their friends who were present from going to away games again and following their beloved club!

Let's be honest and say that it was never going to be like a WI meeting after the game but this is beyond anything that should ever happen. Glad your other half and son are orate tho. I'm sure that if this sort of thing ever happened down the Brit to a group of visiting fans, it would be all over the national press and Stoke would be having points deducted and all sorts of shit.

If the guy on the deck with the blue top on had dark but greying hair about mid to late 40s its possible that he was slapped by one of our own a bloke like that was waving a chelsea flag a row in front of me he had a little lad about 8 to 10 some stokies at the end of our row kicked off on him and had to be sepperated by the plod and stewards and he would not shut the fuck up

Glad to hear that he's well Boothen 76. The way the scum behaved it could easily have been any dad leaving the ground. Believe you me everyone with a child leaving that ground would have been a potential target.
I was around at away matches in the 70s and decided to call it a day after QPR in the mid 70s, nice safe ground but for the several hundred Chelsea fans that found the need to come along to say goodbye.
My lad's 12 now and he's been going to away games since he was 5. Started off with the nice clubs like Norwich and Reading and gradually upped to every away game. I started off very cautiously by getting him to cover up to and from the grounds but over the last three years there has not been a single problem at any away ground. Seeing a kid in an away shirt has usually been an invitation for away fans to come and have a chat like at Birmingham, Wolves, Liverpool. I never saw this one coming because it seemed that the Prem had a softer edge and even the hard lads that come on here talk of the convention about fans with kids. I don't wear a Stoke shirt home or away and was targetted purely because of the boys with me and they received the abuse before I did. Absolute scum and this should be all over the press.

Have to say i thought it was hilarious seeing the anger and bitterness on their faces after the game, sure we were way outnumbered.and i had the usual kick on the ankles (usual at the scum) and then took a side one on the chin but all the way through it had a HUGE smile on my face and they hated that even more,we wound em up proper and saw them at their mard arse worse.but hitting fathers with kids, out of order. Even you must admit youve got a face that just demands punching!!!! ;D Joking aside, to attack shirt boys and kids does sum them up.However, not expecting trouble after two hours solid piss take was a little naive. I took my glasses off just in case!!

Cant believe a man would kick a child thats just wrong... not to mention sick, funny how none of it was mentioned thou on the news....

You for get one thing... their man utd... they in terms in football are god and they cant be seen to be voilent as this would undermine them, hmmm silimar to their police force who think they are above the law all the time. i got a nasty bruise on my inner arm, which bloody hurt! even if it was an accident, a batton should only be used as a last resort, i mean they have mace ffs.

A lesson to all the idiots of scfc If you insist on slapping a few mancs next season dont do what they have done, attacking innocent people.Get their hard core if you are man enough I think there will be people putting their hand up to be 'man enough'. K4
