TP's made an arse of this. He was given a budget for his coaching staff and he's gone over it by appointing Francis. It's reported that he even offered to take a pay cut himself if Jewell would do likewise (though he's obviously on way more than Jewell is) but Jewell refused. I don't see how 'loyalty' has anything to do with it. Would a tight fisted control freak like Peace really allow his manager to offer contracts willy nilly? The one thing we know about Pulis's relationship with owners is you're never really sure what is going on. I think that even applies to Peter Coates.

I was looking at it from a being picked up from the management scrap heap by a mate, then running off to the press when it hasn't worked out. Yeah. How long before Pulis falls out with the owners? I'd give it till the end of the year but we are in the transfer window so maybe over the next two weeks.

I cannot see why people are getting so worked up about this. We played poorly against a team that is better than us in the first place and had one of the League's best players in outstanding form to top it all off. There's nothing more to it than that.
I can do without all the bullshit being thrown around by those arseholes though. It's like Debuchy is the first player ever to be injured as the result of an innocuous challenge or something.

This from you who once inferred as a teacher I interfered with children in my care. What a sickening hypocrite you truly are. To be fair to SS, it must be refreshing for him not to be the most offensive person on the thread.

Yes because Mcdonalds defence was able to introduce enough doubt that the conversation/taxi ride was enough to allow Mcdonald to believe she was consensual. Evans turning up unannounced into a darkened room and asking a simple yes/no question wasn't enough for the Jury. Wasn't Evans argument something along the lines of McDonald calling him up for a game of FIFA 15? He then entered the darkened room and stumbled and fell over a handbag (presumably the one that went missing). Whilst falling his trousers fell down (he'd been on the Atkins diet so they were loose) and his erect penis (he has a Viagra addiction) accidentally buried itself in the womans vagina? Seems plausible to me. Grow up

Talk about missing the point. Get some perspective. I note you're a believer in the patriarchy and rape culture. At what age should we start teaching boys they are all natural, violent rapists and so the law just needs a chance to catch them out so there's no need for trials and evidence? At what age should we be teaching the girls the same thing? When should we introduce the idea that you don't need to actually have to have sex to rape a girl? Their words are enough. You've even just done that here. 'I don't like what you're saying so that makes you a rapist'. Care to single anybody out before you get some advice on libel? Last time the world saw this sort of thinking it was applied to the rape of white women by black men and gave the KKK their excuse for a lynching. And looking at Jean Hatchet and the reaction of her online mob you can see the same thinking and for the same reasons.

Fair enough. Actually that Oliver Holt article sums up pretty much my own position. He's a foul scrote who still has a right to play for any club that is willing to employ him. I wouldn't want him at Stoke but then again there are bigger issues at stake. Like many I'm struggling with this because of some of the shit that's been thrown and I don't agree with the victim being abused and I certainly don't agree with saying it's down to her. Shameful some of the comments on this thread.

people feeling sorry for Ched Evans... give me a fucking break. Im sick and tired of reading never ending threads on one of my football clubs forums in support of this cunt. Post after post of shamefull stuff all absoultely convinced that the girls a slag, she was asking for it,cheds done his time let the lad play on. What about if it did actually happen? That the girl was raped like Evans was convicted for? Hes served his time?? really?? half his fucking sentence?? The girl or slag as many of you like to call her has had to have a new identity. Move home. Probably had to start a new job or rethink career plans. Maybe relocate her family too. Some "justice" hey? Meanwhile Evans wants his old job back. Im not suprised. So lets say he gets it,come on we all know money will talk in the end. Im sure he will get his appeal overturned in the end. He may well get one of those cute little "ched watch" pieces in the sun for when he plays his first game. He'll probably end up on celebrity big brother if his footy career goes tits up. So what about the victim then?? Dont dare bring up McCormick or Hughes either. Both some up the twats of modern footballers very well indeed. All are low lives and it must sting like the toughest sting possible to those poor relatives watching them carry on with their careers. The posts I've read for months and months on here make me breathe the biggest sigh of relief that some people on here are no friends of mine. God forbid but if you had members of your family that have been victims and no the heartbreak, torture and bitterness of rape then come join me for a chat about it. Untill then you know fuck all. Nick The point you and others are missing is that this is no longer about Ched Evans. The woman who is driving the online campaign and starting the petitions has even said it herself. This is about cementing the idea of 'rape culture' and overturning the law. The world she wants is one in which you will by definition as a man be a rapist, you can be convicted on the say-so of one person and there is no need for evidence or even a proper trial, indeed you may not even need to be accused of physical rape - merely 'oppressing' a woman will count and the forms of oppression might include using unapproved language, and once you are released from prison the real problems start. It's the road to hell and we need to take another one. It bothers me enormously that we have men and politicians going along with this bullshit. Now that we have politicians controlling the police, we even have that to consider. Ched Evans is a convicted rapist but he's also a free man. The law says he is free to work if somebody will employ him and we need to stand by that. The alternative is that we descend into mob rule. You can pick either of the two mobs in this case to see what that will look like. Morons on one side threatening the victim and bigots on the other using it to make their case for more bigotry. If you don't believe this is where we are headed, go read something by or watch an interview with rational feminists like Karen Straughan or Erin Pizzey (who was the first person to set up a shelter for abused women). However distasteful it is to uphold the rights of Ched Evans, we are on dodgy ground if we don't.

Not what I was saying boothenboy75 The English legal sytsem is flawed, money buys justice, so how can it be trustworthy. My boss served on a jury and told me the defendant who was accused of stealing from his bosses( a major company) was as guilty as sin but they found him not guilty because they felt sorry for him because he was having a tough time! Yeah trustworthy as fuck. It's what we've got and it's better than the all-out alternatives. The legal aspects of this case are very simple. Ched Evans is a convicted rapist. He's now a free man, out on license and with the right to earn a living. What bothers me are the people who are OK with the first part but not the second. They can't have it both ways. This is the country that produced Magna Carta and Thomas Paine. The idea that we now have people who are seriously trying to subvert the law and the rights of individuals in pursuit of their bigoted ideals beggars belief. You can test the idea of 'rape culture' and its proposed solution by substituting 'men' and 'rape' with another group and another crime. So would Jean Hatchet and those who think like her be free to say the following? "The fact that this black man committed this violent crime against a white man proves we are living in a black crime culture. All black men are violent and if you deny this you are a violence apologist and probably violent yourself. We should convict black men purely on the say so of white people. White people don't lie about violence. Nobody is innocent in this moral void." It's not only bigotry, pure and simple, it's a call to summary justice and the mob rule we'd object to in the name of the bloody Ku Klux Klan. Anybody spreading this drivel needs to be ashamed of themselves. It's bad enough hearing it from the radical feminist bigots, the fact some men are happy to go along with it is simply amazing. They're Uncle Toms in this, quite simply.

Has the victim given Jean Hatchet the role of her official spokesperson and asked her to make her the figurehead of the rape culture movement then? I have no idea. Similarly I wonder whether Evans has given his permission for his allies to threaten her and the victim. What do you think? Are they his allies? Is Jean Hatchet the victim's? I'd hope he would tell the mob operating in his name to knock it off. It's a bloody disgrace. The only thing you can say in their favour is they're not trying to create a bigoted legal system that operates without evidence and assumes all men are rapists. That is the end game for Jean Hatchet and her ilk. The lot threatening the victim and others are just lowlifes.

Well at least you understand what the game is here. "All men would do what Evans did given the chance."
That idea is exactly what the Jean Hatchets want for the legal system and men.
The fact you're cheering it all on? Give me fucking strength.
"There is no innocence"

Has Ched Evans changed his name to Convicted Rapist Ched Evans now? Seems every single news article leads with this full title Just wait until after the appeal when it will become 'No longer Convicted Rapist but avid Threesome enthusiast Ched Evans'. He should move to the Mainly Nationalist Garvaghy Road in Portadown.

If you're in any doubt what this is really all about, then you need to be aware of this. Jean Hatchet is the leader of the online mob and the person instigating the petitions. It's not about Ched Evans or the victim or anything else. It's about subverting the law and creating an idea that we live in a 'rape culture'. Attachment Deleted

There you go again. Backing the mob rather than the law. No I am not. The very first thing this guy did was try to use the media and his status to promote his case. It's gone tits up for him, tough shit.
The law says he's a rapist.
And the law also says he's served his sentence and is a free man. That's not enough for you and others though is it? You quote the law one minute and then disparage it the next.

Pugsley No. I've already said that. What I do believe - and it's enshrined in our law - is that he is free to work with anybody who is free to employ him. The fact that we are giving away our hard won rights on the say so of shrill Twitter gobshites with their own agenda and media and politicians kowtowing to this mob fills me with disgust. As I've also just said, if you want to know why the role of PCC should be abandoned, just look at how a politician like this arse who's in the role for Greater manchester turns his back on the law and the judicial system to court popularity with a lynchmob. Shameful.

What I love most about all of this is that people like you are seriously arguing he should go work as a painter and decorator rather than a footballer. Now let's see. Would I rather a convicted rapist was at home with my daughter, or out on a pitch in front of 20,000 people while she's somewhere else because she's never been to Bramall Lane in her life and not likely to be?
I love the idea that footballers are role models by the way. I bet we could all roll off a list of respected footballers I would tell my kids are complete cocks. John Terry, Steve Gerrard and Luke McCormick are captains of their respective clubs. Would I want my kids to be drunk drivers, brawlers, child killers, thieves, shaggers and arseholes? No. How about Joey Barton? Lee Hughes? Jermaine Pennant? Nile Ranger? All still getting paid, not role models or anything like it. Just wankers who happen to play football.
Meanwhile, the mob gets its way. We can all do away with laws and our rights and the possibility of redemption and just leave it to those who can muster the biggest and most aggressive petitions and Twitter campaigns. People aren't free to earn a living, employers aren't free to employ who they like, and meanwhile we bow down to feminist fascists who want to create a world in which all men are rapists just waiting to be caught out, slammed in prison on no more than the say so of a woman and released into a world which wants them dead.
And has anybody asked the girl what she wants? We know she doesn't want thugs driving her away from home but does she want her name co-opted by people with an agenda? I'd assume she just wants the shit storm to go away.

Yeah. Leaving justice and human rights to "the majority". What's the worst that could happen? Agreed, bad choice of words. Never mentioned Human Rights though. The modern day version of that phrase and the context it is used in is all geared to protecting the vilest pieces of shit our society endures. The measure of civilisation is how well we treat these pieces of shit. I certainly don't think we should leave them to mobs, never mind their victims ending up on the receiving end of hysterical morons. We are seeing both in this whole sorry affair. I saw what the bloody PCC in Manchester has said this and it just offers more proof why you don't let politicians run the police and judiciary. Playing to the mob, the fucking idiot.

Fair enough and I wouldn't welcome him at Stoke but it's down to individual clubs. We need to get away from the increase in mob rule in the UK. Those bloody petition sites and Twitter are taking us back to the middle ages. You've got one mob banging on the door of this poor girl and another deciding the justice system isn't enough for them.

This is no longer about Ched Evans. It's about an agenda to cement the idea that we live in a 'rape culture'. All of these petitions and protests online are being created by radical feminists. There would have been less fuss if Evans had walked up to that girl in the street and beat her to death because that would not have served this agenda.
The person we should all feel sorry for in this is the girl. Not only does she have morons hounding and abusing her, forcing her to move house and go into hiding repeatedly, she now has another online and media mob who won't stop using her as an excuse until Evans has hung himself, because this mob want men to lose the right to a fair trial and, even if convicted, want them dead after they've served their time.

Did you just make all this shit up? This has been widely reported, which you might of seen unless you use Ched Evans' website as your only source of propoganda. It's not really propaganda though is it? It's all what happens when two online mobs collide. Not only does this girl have to endure threats and abuse from morons, her case has been hijacked by feminist loons who want men locked up on the merest say-so of women and who think anybody they declare a rapist should be hounded to the grave.

Seeing as his defence is 'I'm not a rapist, I'm the sort of scumbag who turfs up uninvited to follow my mate in shagging pissed-up. semi-conscious girls in cheap hotel rooms we've booked in advance just for that purpose', I guess the answer would be yes.
