SJW comes in with no baggage. Popular amongst staff still a relevant name to most players, he will be able to get around each department and find out what the issues are going on behind the scene and hopefully give a no nonsence report back to JC.

Or will Klopp go there? Or DE Zerbi? If klopp went there after being manager of dortmund it would be like him becoming the man utd manager after leaving Liverpool. He's not gonna do that to the dortmund fans.

If all he needs to do is bulk up a bit, would it not have been better having him pumping iron in the gym instead of going out on loan? No player at that age simply needs to bulk up. It is as much about smartening up as strengthening up which is why they need to be playing with and against experienced pros. Didn't he have a long term I jury relating to stomach area recently. If so bulking up probably wasn't an option as he recovered from that. It's probably put him back 12 months in regards to developing his strength over the last 12 months.

Not sure he will get much game time if the present trend continues. MK Don's fans not overly impressed on first few games...too slow, lightweight etc. He was sub on the weekend and the other centre forward scored two goals on his full league debut in their win at Swindon. What I've seen I have to agree with them. Needs to build up some muscle to make it but he's a young lad and his skills are certainly good enough. And yet some here think he's ready for championship football, some even calling for a lowe tezgel front 2. Nooooooooooooo.

And probably Taylor to be fair. Overall though I don't feel like we have enough success stories. You want lads banging in goals and coming back ready to play. It's probably the case with 99% of everyone else's loans as well but I can only base it on following Stoke. Look at liam delap, he's on his 3rd championship loan and only now beginning g To get a grip on what's needed to make it

Brown never came across to me as a player who would sulk. He never gave less than 100% whatever the circumstances. Also, he must have known that being a Prem player would mean that he would always be an also ran. I've got no bones to pick with Brown and I really hope he makes a shedload of dosh with the move. I still think we could have kept him with a great bonus at the end of the season when FFP isn't dragging us back. OS. Really, chance to double his pay and play in the Premier League. We couldn't have matched any part of that offer, it seems a pretty straightforward choice. I can hear the conversation now. RM..ook Jacob "you've been offered the chance to play at the highest level in English football, test yourself against some of the best defenders in the world" JB, "I can't believe this opportunity it will change my life" RM "don't be silly lad, you can stay here where the fans kinda like you but think we can do better. Stand with us, a mid table team as we fight relegation.. and now this is the big one....well give you a nice big bonus including family pass to waterworld, if and its a big if..if FFP pressures allow" what you say son. JB.." Taxi"

Usual case with Stoke fans. Our best players are always the ones that are not in the team. Then they play and we slag them off 100% correct, 6 weeks ago ryan lowe was the one we needed, he'll score, why isn't he getting more game time... now he's played a few games people can see he's slow, out of his depth and nowhere near ready for championship football.

In my experience, work mates tolerate a lot but their comes a point when even they say... come on, this waster needs sorting out, Sorting out yes, ostracised no. It’s the managers job to manage the players at the club Maybe he's managed the issue by removing the problem player for greater good of the other 24 squad members. Maybe the captain went to ss and said look we've had enough, get mmae out he's disrupting the dressing room. He has a squad of players to manage not just 1 who doesn't want to be managed.

There was nothing wrong with disciplining Mmaee, but was it really necessary to do so publicly? In my experience, that tends to deepen any conflict and sympathy among other employees multiplies. Who signed off on this? In my experience, work mates tolerate a lot but their comes a point when even they say... come on, this waster needs sorting out,

I am not sure where we go with this. All windows elsewhere are closed now, no mention of where we stand at present. Do we assume he is still training with the under 21's?. If so is he a good example to set the younger players?. He's an example of what happens to you if you can't act professionally in a professional football setup..

Mmaee might not have shown enough to warrant himself back into the fold alls we’ve seen is a basic responce from his agent. Putting up with players white attitudes is why we are where we are at the minute. This stems all true way back to when Hughes was manager and hasn’t been rectified since. The only thing I’d say is that Mmaee isn’t the first difficult player. Arni had a reputation before he joined us and I’m sure there’s others that have been difficult. We’re not in a situation where we can freeze players out when the alternatives are so poor. It’s all good having morals but not if we’re a weaker unit for it. Arnie didn't disrespect his teammates. His manager, his club, his fans, Having standards and morals is the right thing to hold onto. Bringing mmae back would make our dressing room morale weaker. SCFC do not pander to time wasters.

I find it incredible of anyone who remembers the attitude of Jese, Berahino and how that affected not only the teams season, dressing room but other players as well such as choupo,
And yet they think bringing mmae back into the group is the best thing for our team and season. There's quite likely a large part of the squad are glad to see the back of a player who has no respect for them, training. The club, fans or manager. Bringing him back could well just about destroy the unity which is needed in a relegation battle..
If mmae, vidigal, haks and Campbell are in the bomb squad - leave them there. SCFC does not need mercenaries and their inflated egos.

Reports of all these players in a bomb squad just reeks of a manager in way, way above his head and out of his depth. Footballers aren't robots and whilst we as fans live in a naive world where every footballer is desperate to play for their club, and are good little choir boys who don't say boo to a goose back down here in the real world you have footballers that need managing and coaching and some are complex and difficult characters. Good managers find a way to manage and get the best out of them. Other managers don't. Not really. But it does reek of a transfer team that didn't do its job properly in the summer and didn't check some of the past issues certain players have had at previous clubs. The blame lies at Ricky and Jared's door not shueys. The players also have a responsibility to be professional, turn up to training on time, and take training seriously. We have complex characters in our dressing room when we were relegated from prem league, their rotten attitude was allowed to ruin our dressing room and 7 yrs later were still trying to recover. Good on shuey for rooting them out and keeping them away from the first team. United strength is stronger.

Strong British 11 today after bombing most of the bad eggs. (Leris I apologise, Burger and the other internationals putting a shift in.) I am sure most have heard about the bomb squad thinking they are too good for the club. Fuck them off, send them back, pay them off. Make them run Hills. I'll clap that fat fucker Campbell up Stanley Mathew's Way when he finally does one. I hope he's got a taxi waiting cuz he'll never manage to walk that far.

A rich village idiot is not the way forward. Bollocks to the devil you know crap and I'm not having a coates family or bury ESC comparison They're multiple so called smaller clubs thriving in the Prem currently with intelligent owners. We're an attractive club with sustained potential. Ie 10 years in the Prem to potential investors. Mike Ashley has twice the brain cells than the current owner who's constantly making us worse and he has an IQ of 2! It's a matter of WHEN not IF we go down to L1. Let's remember what family took us down there for a 2nd time and what business took us back up. Anyone who thinks Mike Ashley is or would be a better owner for stoke than the Coates needs to give their head a wobble...then when they've done that slam the fridge door on it u til they see the stupidity of their view.

He hated Stoke. We beat Fulham twice in one season when Pulis was here and was far less than complimentary in interviews after both game. Didn’t he also hang Shawcross out to dry when he was England’s manager? By actually playing him? May be wrong but I thought capello gave shawcross his 1 cap v Sweden

For a tactically superior side they had one whole shot on goal They must have been very unlucky They were set up better than us. At no point did we boss the game. We got a goal from a corner. They could have done the same. Both teams were crap. The game was unwatchable. Manager deserves absolutely no credit for the win. None "They could of done the same" But they didn't. We did and it won us the game.

Post by bridgnorthstokie on Feb 14, 2024 17:12:39 GMT
If we lose tonight, which I think we will, we will be in the bottom 3 obviously and I don't think this manager or the team have the balls to pull us out of the situation. We have been in the same scenario before but have somehow pulled ourselves clear, this lot don't seem up for any relegation fight.i hope I am proved wrong but the signs are not good. Firstly, we won't be in the relegation zone if we lose... so long as Huddersfield lose as well! But I see your point. The closer we get to kick-off, the more nervy I am getting. It's a tough one for Schumacher - do you emphasise the gravity of this game to the players and risk making them even more nervous, or do you prepare for it like it's "just another game" in the words of the Wise Wilmot, but then risk them taking their foot off the gas? Is that the same fella as "just another mistake" wise wilmot

Doesn't press or work hard enough for the way the manager plays. Neither does anyone else. Every midfield combination we’ve used since Sunderland has been pathetic. Second to every 50-50, unable to create chances, leaving gaping holes all around the pitch. Pathetic. It's hard to develop any midfield combination when he only plays 1 genuine midfielder in burger. I would call bae, cundle, DJ midfield/attackers playing behind a main central striker. How SS thinks burger can hold the midfield together on his own is beyond me

I've just had a look through Dublin's LinkedIn profile and whilst his education reads as pretty impressive on the top line to be fair, but I was more interested to learn more about his Level 1 in Player Identification qualification that he lists amongst his attributes. PFSA LEVEL 1 TALENT IDENTIFICATION IN FOOTBALL - CREATED BY EXPERIENCED PREMIER LEAGUE TALENT IDENTIFICATION SPECIALISTS It costs fifty quid, takes roughly 4-6 hours to complete, is undertaken online and is, cough, "a great stepping stone into a career in football." It is the first of twelve qualification available through the PFSA. Just eleven more to go, Jared. And that was all that was needed for JC to entrust our recruitment to him....if only JC had done a Google check.

At this point where things are to the wire you don’t dick around with a penalty, put your laces through it and get it buried - that’s what he should have done. It was a terrible penalty. But even putting your laces through it can sometimes miss. Remember SJW missing 3 on the trot by Leathering it straight down the middle of the goal, saved each time by the gk. He got away with it as it didn't cost the club whereas Charlie Adam and now maybe DJ will be remembered as...what if? If we go down.

I feel like the list of players Schumacher has no time for is growing. Spotted Pearson going down the tunnel as were about to make the 4th and 5th subs. Full list: - Mmaae - Leris - Rose - Campbell - Pearson Don't think we'll see much of any of them the rest of the season. That’s ridiculous from Pearson if that’s true! I think Pearson was seen following Campbell down the tunnel.

All this calling for his head and claims he’s lost the dressing room is nonsense. He’s only just come in he’s not a miracle worker! He’s not and we need one it’s simple Don't know whether to be positive that many of this squad are only on 1 yr deals or loans and will be gone in the summer...or be filled with panic that our recruitment team will have another go at rolling the dice trying to fill our squad again.

Unfortunately Schumacher seems out of his depth. Making too many changes. Totally agree, he lost the plot after the brum game in which we played well created loads of chances. He then Made loads and continues to make loads of changers each game with disastrous effect.
