People in Asian countries (Japan is an example) wear masks when they have cold or flu symptoms in order to protect others from infection. They don't wear them to protect themselves - although some people do wear face masks in some cities due to air pollution but that's a different matter. Its interesting how mask wearing has become a civil liberties issue in the west while in the east its viewed as a common courtesy. They may do but the WHO (prior to 2020) said, paraphrasing, that masks were about as useful as a chocolate teapot in stopping the spread of respiratory illnesses Even Whitty seemed a little confused 12 months ago...

Chester and Batth together in the centre of your back 4? I genuinely don't think I've seen a slower less mobile partnership. Don't even start me on their distribution.... There’s no one else is there? If Forrester was fit I’d have him in but I believe he’s injured. You're quite right, I really don't know how we got to this stage.

Clearly not a Super League when the likes of Arsenal and Spurs are included and PSG and Bayern Munich aren't. Full credit to PSG and Bayern for maintaining their integrity, hope that continues.

Best half we've had for a long, long time. Hopefully we don't revert to type 2nd half and keep on the way we are going. Could do with a goal or 2 early as I think the more the game goes on, the more MON will protect the point. Norton looks great Souttar is class Clucas looks sharp Mikel controlling things well RND playing some beautiful passes Powell creating So far so good I've got to admit the first time I saw Souttar I wasn't convinced but he is developing into an extremely good footballer. Like you say, he has a touch of class about him.

I think your first post in this thread asked the question, "is he in jail yet?" Nowt like a bit of open mindedness... In the interest of transparency, I made that post two or three times before engaging further. There are some subjects I actually think you might be able to sway me on or certainly convince me that there's a valid opposite argument. I'm definitely more open-minded than some. This really isn't one of those subjects. Sure, I'm happy to watch all the Pro-Police propaganda and support for Derek Chauvin on these sensible YouTube channels with names like 'The Voice Of Reason'. Who doesn't fancy a laugh on a Friday morning while sipping a coffee, before starting another day working from home? If people want to support Mr Chauvin then that is their prerogative. It's equally ok for me to think he's nothing more than a violent bully who's aggressive behaviour finally resulted in an innocent mans death. Before anyone replies "he was no innocent man, he had a criminal record"... A record with a few petty crimes doesn't warrant the death penalty, even in countries that the right would refer to as 'backwards'. I actually fully agree with you that he's a violent bully and will be convicted of a criminal offence. What I find disappointing is that people are quite prepared to convict him of a murder charge and throw him in prison for life without even considering any of the evidence.

You've answered your own question I'd rather not engage with you because you're closed to other opinions. That's funny.... So because I don't rate this guy and the police and you don't agree, I'm 'closed to opinions'. Let's be honest, just how often have opinions actually been changed on this forum? How often have you read something and been so open-minded that you've come to a different conclusion? If the answer is zero then you're just as closed-minded as you accuse me of being. Really, you just don't like the fact I have a different opinion to you. Fair enough mate. I think your first post in this thread asked the question, "is he in jail yet?" Nowt like a bit of open mindedness...

Probably would have died, at what point? That day? The next day? Weeks, months? Who decides that? Shall we just set a precedent that Police Officers can play God? That they can think to themselves "he probably hasn't got long left, so I'll probably just torture him slowly to death". The state of this thread. Pathologists have testified that they have performed autopsies on people who died from overdose with under a third of the amount of fentanyl in their system than Floyd had. One pathologist actively claimed that had Floyd's body been presented as an overdose case, she'd have signed off on it without question. Plus he had an enlarged heart, 90% occluded arteries, had recently had Covid and was complaining of breathing issues for over half an hour before he was restrained. There was no sign of physical trauma on or in his neck and they have had an expert using the legal equivalent of "hawkeye" to claim Chauvin's knee was between Floyd's shoulders and not on his neck, and that the well circulated mobile phone footage gives a misleading angle. Even defence witnesses can't agree with themselves about what he died of so how on earth can they claim Chauvin was responsible for it? And I mean in an objective, factual way, not just "hE hAd HiS KnEE on HIs neCk"? "The state of this thread" indeed- people who have been following the trial out of genuine, neutral interest discussing the content of the trial being self-righteously berated by emotional, biased people who clearly have just watched the original mobile phone footage and sod all else. 'kinel, that goes against the narrative.

A daily occurrence? Really?? It's a wonder the courts aren't overflowing with resisting arrest sort of offences...... People being arrested on warrants where they were summoned or requisitioned to Court but did not receive the summons or requisition for whatever reason happens every day. It's a legacy of some pretty awful legislation. Oh and trust me.....assaults and resists on/of police officers is about the only thing that gets charged at the moment. I'm just a little perplexed why they didn't receive their summons if their vehicle was correctly registered and insured etc. Maybe more people are being charged with assault police and resist arrest than ever due to body cams now showing the offence??

Everyone’s broken the law at some point in time but i don’t see many people committing minor offences like the ones you mention kicking off or resisting arrest because they know that the likelihood is they know that if they play ball the likelihood is they’ll be allowed to leave in a few mins or worse case they’ll get a ticket. If they take the option of trying to run off or even more seriously resist/kick those options will be removed. So yes I have gone 31 in a 30 mph zone and I have been stopped for speeding on a couple of occasions but when I was I didn’t run off or resist arrest I just answered the questions asked of me was apologetic and was allowed to carry on my day. Likewise when i was stopped in the street in London after triggering an alarm I had my bag searched and was allowed to leave without any issues. It’s not even the offence that’s the issue it’s how you behave if you get caught. Drugs also is a big factor in a lot of cases. It’s just a case of officers being able to identify things like “excited delirium” and whether behaviour is a result of what someone’s taken. Sometimes it’s a very tough call which sadly in cases has led to people losing their lives. So you end up at Court over your speeding. It's an innocent mistake. The NIP went to the wrong address. Then the Court summons does also. You have a warrant issued for your arrest. The police come to arrest you. You know nothing of the warrant or any Court hearings. You're supposed to be at work. Id bet my last dollar you wouldn't be as calm then. This isn't an extreme either. It's a daily occurrence. A daily occurrence? Really?? It's a wonder the courts aren't overflowing with resisting arrest sort of offences......

Is there a slower more cumbersome team in the Championship than Stoke? The back three are the reason we defend so deep, throw in a completely slow and cumbersome midfield and a slow and cumbersome striker it's little wonder we pass the ball sideways and backwards but rarely put a shot on target. Today was a very depressing watch.

Not sure the pound has "rocketed", it's currently 1.16, before Brexit, it was nearly 1.30. Can anyone remind me what rate the pound was at before the result of the vote was announced in 2016? I've no idea but was it very different?

How are nightclubs any different from pubs in this situation? 24 hour licencing means that many 'pubs' and bars can stay open as long as nightclubs do. No passport needed to go to a pub/bar until 3am but if you want to go to the nightclub two doors down you will require proof of vaccination? Load of bollocks and absolutely impractical to implement. Won't happen. You can sit on a National Express bus for a few hours as you travel the length of the country without a vaccine passport but can't sit in a theatre or cinema for a couple of hours. It just gets more ridiculous the more regulations they try to impose.

Just spoke to the Mrs who is on a 13 hour shift today. There isn’t and hasn’t been one COVID case in the past 2 days. Sounds promising. I mean nobody hospitalised with it and no one actually being treated. If that's the case nationwide then infections will continue to fall dramatically. Hospitals seem to have been the great spreader throughout this pandemic.

You’ve nailed it there Cobham. EMBARRASSING. Luckily with the vast majority of the country being on the side of the cops it’s already looking a pathetic response. And that’s with 95% being Antifa and such like. Deluded fools! God help anyone who crosses him though. Looking at the support he's garnered he may as well have held his protest in his kitchen.

Dunno, do you drink soy latte while driving in your Volvo to Glastonbury, James O'brien on the radio, few bags of happy pills, face paint and self flaggelate in public with a bunch of middle class white kids in Islington in your free time? If you do two of the above then yes. You get bonus points if you have an NHS rainbow on your car window or regularly post articles on Instagram about women's rights and the need to "educate oneself" 😉 Shit. Apart from the Volvo I don't tick any other boxes. I don't do Instagram, dislile London (which is why I left) think anyone who owns a coffee machine the size if a small fridge is a middle class wanker with too much money (or has too high a credit limit), and at my age if I spent much time hanging around with 'kids' I'd either attract the attention of Operation Yewtree or be offered a job as a coach at Crewe Alex. Shame really. You might not find me quite as annoying as I hoped. Ahem, what's wrong with coffee machines the size of a small fridge?

It’s almost getting boring how few goals he concedes👀 Again today didn’t have a lot to do but made saves when needed. Love him It's no coincidence, being a good keeper isn't all about breathtaking saves, organisation and controlling your box are very important and Davies is superb at that.
