We did, yes. Booing, sarcastic cheers won't benefit the team.

We dont know whether Diao was injured or not as an explanation for his performance but i agree with the manager taking him off and maybe he has to reconsider putting him in the team with Faye etc sitting on the bench.
We have been praised to the hilt for our support of our players this season but frankly i was appalled by the reaction to him being substituted, and those responsible (a lot of them) should be ashamed of themselves.
WE CAN GET THROUGH THIS TOGETHER AS ONE UNIT AND THAT SORT OF SHIT DOES US NO FAVOURS!!!!!!!
GET BEHIND ALL THE PLAYERS WHO PUT THE SHIRT ON THATS THE LEAST THEY DESERVE FOR THE EFFORT THEY ARE GIVING US AGAINST ALL THE ODDS THIS SEASON!!!!!
SORRY FOR SHOUTING BUT HAVING SUPPORTED THEM FOR 32 YEARS SOME PEOPLE DONT KNOW HOW LUCKY THEY ARE TO BE WATCHING THEM PLAYING AT THIS LEVEL AND HOW DIFFICULT IT IS TO STAY THERE

The reason people cheered was because pulis should of subbed him at half time.
I thought it was sad on the lad but he was shit.

Quite a few players were below par today. Diao among them. However I saw some good tackles and a neat header to put Beatts in early in the first half. I was encouraged how solid our defence looked with a relatively attacking midfield. The response to his substitution was very disappointing. Made us look like Villa fans

Reaction to Salif getting subbed was a definite minus point (just like Villa fans reaction to Agbonlahor) it lacked class; short memories as probably all players this season (not to mention last season) have made positive contributions whether its every game or just a few. If we survive it will have been thanks to all players efforts. I think Cresswell has suffered the same sort of response, but never forget that one of the best days in the Stoke's history came after Cresswell pressurised an opponent into giving away a throw from which Mama scored the winner against Villa.
If a player who you don't want on the pitch gets subbed whatever happened to a bit of polite applause and saving your self to give a loud reaction to welcome his replacement?
Support takes many forms - the reaction to Salif was nothing to do with support. We need every player fully psyched in to what we are trying to achieve; disrespect to our own players achieves nowt.

There was some clapping as he went off, it wasn't all ironic cheers, but it didn't sound great.
I think the midfield had a tough game today, probably due to middlesboro having a extra body in midfield.

Fucking Hell. Get a fucking grip you bunch of soft shites. Diao was a shambles today, unable to pass a ball, win a tackle if god forbid he had the ball, find his own man. 9 games left, wins needed to remain in this league deadwood needs to be cleared, how people would slaughter Pulis if he took us down. Cheers were made today beacuse this guy was unable to compete today and has not been able to do so for the past few games, and it was the right decision, as was the sub against Bolton, again cryed for by the fans.

Diao and Sorensen are the weak links in an otherwise distinctly strong side. Idiot SGS I'm sorry, would you care to enlighten me as to why you believe my view is so misguided? If you throw me the one about how Sorensen can be brilliant, then hey i'll grant you it, but try telling me that goals in several games this season haven't been his fault. I'm not saying he's a bad keeper, hey he can produce some great reflexes, im saying his inconsistency and mistakes can be costly. I'd love to know why you find this so idiotic. B23

he walked straight into the tunnel didnt he, i reckon he knew about everyone being glad he was gone ;/ i felt a bit sorry for him! he was poor imo but he should have stayed in the dug out to cheer on the lads i clapped him when he went off but pulis should have realised the crowd frustration and pulled him off at halftime instead of 5 minutes in to the half he loses the ball but does not do enough to win it back thanks for your efforts salif but im afraid amdy and glen have overtaken you plus any new recruits in summer

I have nowt against Salif but a) he is paid a shit load of money b) he is was very poor today c) people everywhere were screaming for him to come off because we were on for a 0 - 0 on a must win d) he should have sat on the bench afterwards
However - booing/cheering him off was not right. TP knows and will not bow to supporter pressure

He is like Cresswell,Griffin thanks for the past efforts in getting us here but your just not good enough to keep us there.Simple as that.We move on as do players and managers and if we get better players in than them then thats what every football club is outhere to do.Get on with it.

As I pointed out earlier, the rest of the players look up to Diao and have a lot of respect for him.
If Diao is upset, it could quickly spread to one or two others!
Booing your own players is not just stupid, it is beyond stupid.

Cheers I first noticed it during my regular visits to training (sad aren't I). Have since checked with someone involved with the club. The role he plays is similar to the one Matteo had in the past. Finally, do you remember Steve Bruce being interrupted during a press conference by a phone call and complaining about Stoke's Senegal contingent badgering him about Camara. Guess who was doing the badgering - he wouldn't be chasing opposition mangers about signings without some official clout. I don't think its a huge leap to consider Salif to be an influential and respected person amongst our players

It was disgusting TBH made you almost ashamed to be a Stoke fan, great support but to do that is just as bad as booing him off.

I thought Stoke fans were better than that these days. This was one major blight on an otherwise enjoyable day, there is just no need, we are in this all together.
Chin up Salif.

Sarcastic cheering does not help our football club. God I know, it was aimed at me direct! Grow up. I apreciate what Salif has done, and firstly mouth I did not boo him. It was a change that was needed and welcolmed by the fans, as far as I am aware nobody booed at Salif. Where is the problem in letting him know that for the past few games at least he has been shite, running into your own men, shit distribution....maybe he may get his head down and work on it? Then again, sorry Salif carry on fucking about. I cannot believe people are crying about this, a player well off the pace gets subbed to the relief of many, time to slit your wrists.

I think it was more a sound of relief, because Salif was having a terrible game. WE all know that he is capable of playing much better, but his last few games he has been less than inspiring. I personally have never, and will never boo one of our players, but we are entitled to express how we feel.

My thoughts entirely. He should have been no where near the team today. The sarcastic cheering was pathetic too though. He just simply shouldn't have played. TP must stop making this regular error of persisting with players no matter how bad they are. We can ill afford basic mistakes like these in this league.

When Rory came inside it highlighted what Diao is lacking - mobility, tackling ability and passing ability.
I hope he doesn't start another game this season - he's so far off the pace it is untrue.
To be honest, the reception he got was just relief we didn't have him ambling around the pitch any longer.
