Surely Rory is a cert to start on Saturday, Chelsea have been awful recently defending set pieces including a long throw against Southend!

I just wonder if maybe, just maybe we'll be hyper enough from the new signings, and they'll be down enough after their title chances got dented last week... I'd never have said a point was going to be possible at Chelski but I honestly think it might be.

I'd really like to see us give a 4-5-1 formation a go away from home, this will also match Chelsea's formation, perhaps we can cancel them out by going like for like ? Not sure how fit Lawrence is though ? that might scupper my 4-5-1 idea. ----------------------------Sorro-------------------------- Wilko----------Scross---------------AbFaye--------Higgy ------------Delap-------AmFaye-------Whelan--------- Lawrence-----------------------------------------Ethers ------------------------Beattie---------------------------

Never mind the starting XI! The real question is, will we be wearing stripes or that awful banana top with red shorts?

i cant see the win but a draw or narrow defeat is acceptable. the real fight starts from man city
that said he is going to have top play etherington and beattie just to justify the money spen t meaning a more attacking style of play
chelsea will not be expecting that
with their home form being poor, fan unrest (i cant believe i just typed that) scolari being under pressure we may get something from the game
i heard diao might be available so it will probably be him and faye in centre with delap and etherington on flanks, lawrence to come off the bench
canna wait

Never mind the starting XI! The real question is, will we be wearing stripes or that awful banana top with red shorts? anyone know how many times so far we have worn the yellow top as i was told at the start of the season by someone from stoke as bizarre as it may sound, premier league rules say you can only wear your away shirt a maximum of 7 times

We have wore it at every away game have we not... so thats 9 or 10?? int it.... If that was the case we'd be fucked for sunderland away

No not every away game. We wore red & white at Pompey didn't we?
Satdee should be OK for the home one as there's no clash. AND at the Brit they wore their home one.
Oh, and pessimistic-old-sod
I wish I was just being pessimistic!! ;D

It'll still be a tough match even though I watched Chelsea play Man United Sunday and Chelsea were extremely poor. United did a good job on keeping the tempo high and closing them down, something we do well at home but we seem to do less away.
I think a point away there would be fantastic, but we know have a few options up front so with Kitson and Beattie we should see the ball being held up a little better. Who knows what will happen, hopefully Drogba will play like he did second half v Man U and the unrest will continue!

I'm more optimistic than i was after Hartlepool, hopefully we can grab a point and that would b 2 bonus points from two games
Alternatively hold them 0-0 till 89th min thn long ball over the top for Beattie to slot home his first goal for the club and an amazing 0-1 win! (Maybe it was just in my dream)

Chelsea were shocking against United but you can bet your bottom dollar they will up it for our match, they will want to prove that the Utd disaster was a one off. Saying that, if Scolari still hasn't properly addressed Chelsea's apparent vulnerability at set pieces then we may surprise a few people. If we dont give them any respect and take the game to them I feel very confident we can get something from the bridge.
