Good bit of business at £300k. And there should still be £1m-£2m available in the bottomless pit of the warchest. The money we got for Dazza paid for Parky and Cresser. The money we got for Higgy should pay for Corty, Shawy, Pughy and Griff That should leave: The money Papa-Coates announced* he was investing in intangible assets - "the biggest transfer budget a manager of Stoke has ever had" (* - he never said exactly how much) And possibly the surprise "bonus payment" made by the Premier-League to all league clubs at the start of this season (just over £1-million to us, I think ...) So plenty still left for center-mid and left-wing ... (Bring on Stellios ...) ah EDIT: And as pointed out below ... Ta!! ... plus the money for Hoofer, Patto and Vass (though Patto and Vass won't buy much more than fish & chips all round)

I'd play Wilko and Dicko first. Griff as cover only, until he's made up for being a bellend last year.

If he's fit he plays, you cannot underestimate the quality he brings to the team. We really miss a player who can come forward with the ball and take it from defence to the midfield and beyond. He will definitely improve us.

also...any money from Newcastle cup match (both home and away.) Also not tempting fate, there could be a money spinning game at Arsenal.

Welcome back Griff.
Top player at this level. Can cover both full back positions, adds depth to the squad and brings much needed experience to a young defence. He is certainly a more attacking fullback than our current options.
At 28, 300k is a sound bit of business.

Well he's back, but I wished he signed in the summer, and not for the sheep shaggers across the border . Welcome home to the first stoke player I remember being younger than me

Interesting that the tabloid piece on Sunday got the fee right. Let's hope they were right about Harewood too
Stoke City though, look set to meet Villa's £1.8 million valuation for the striker and will also complete the signing of Derby full-back Andy Griffin for £300k. They are also keen on Preston midfield maestro Simon Whaley - as are Palace - following the sale of Peter Sweeney to League One Leeds.

When you think if he'd signed in the summer he'd have cost us £500k not £300k and we'd have had to pay him more in wages (I suspect Derby may still have to pay him a bit one way or another). We've done far better than expected without the players we'd hoped would sign in the summer but now heres Griff to boost the ranks. Worked out quite well really.

Got to be honest, did not want him back. But he is here now,So. Welcome back Griff, pull your finger out and do the business for our club. You have done well to leave the sheep shaggers because you will be swapping places with em soon. Shrewd fella..

Really pleased we've got griff back, i hold no grudges that he didn't sign pre-season, and i'm sure he'll do a job for us again. I'm not taking anything away from dicko or wilko who have been excellent, and if they can play like they did against newcastle, they should be rotated with griff. Pugh was oustanding in midfield against newcastle, and for that reason it would seem logical to move him in the centre alongisde SJE, until diao returns, and which point i would play salif and pugh, and slot griff in at left-back. This therefore would mean dropping dicko, which seems really harsh, i really like his passion, and detemination, so no doubt and understandably he would feel slightly bugrudged. Griff, Pugh, Shawcross and Cort are all top signings, and are definately a step in the right direction, as long as we strengthen the more alarmingly weak area's such as wide left, giving us the chance to push cressy up-front, and other centre midfielder. Another good signing stoke, and for a reasonable fee. Gooooaaaarrrnnn Stoke!

If Griff had signed in the summer wouldn't we have lost both Wilko and Dicko, by oing for more wages in the premiership its meant we haven't got rid of these two players for silly money. Its all worked out nicely! ;D

We'll be winning until the last minute at Wembley when Pericard is sent on as a time-wasting sub and he'll score a fucking own goal and we'll lose on penalties. Nah, we are going up, sing we are going up!

Always enjoyed watching Griffin playing for Stoke.
Spoilt his love affair with the club and supporters by opting for Derby at the beginning of the season.
I know it's premiership football and all that but he has earned a good living at Newcastle and Portsmouth and could have afforded to live on his Stoke income quite easily, even though it would have been less than Portsmouth, Newcastle and Derby. His love for Stoke City was not paramount.
Afraid he showed his real colours and the well used term greedy footballers comes to mind. Now it hasn't worked out at Derby, surprise surprise he's now back and joining the club he loves, yeah!

has shawcross signed yet because signing a player like that , potential wise alone will make my transfer window complete obviously we need centre mid and left mid though
