lets hope he recovers his best form then he's well worth the money, but for me Wilko and Dicko should be kept in while they are playing well, dropping them could shatter their confidence.

Has a player ever played for Stoke in 4 separate spells? Surely Andy Griffin has a new Stoke City record?

So thats over £3m spent in January and we have 4 new defenders to show for it. Cort(£1.3m), Shawcross(£1m+), Pugh(500k), Griffin(300k). Work from the back I say. DM sorted with Diao so CM next then a left winger to shift Cressie up top and we're sorted

As good a signing as this is, and I'm a big fan of Griffins, I'm sad that Wilko and/or Dicko will now struggle to continue their excellent recent progress in the first team. Both players were neck and neck for MotM against Newcastle in my opinion.

Amazingly, the headline is up on the official site already. Apparently he's signed professional terms and he's only seventeen. Wahey! Edit: seriously, though, that's some fast work

I believe its down to getting rid of the add on's off Ben Foster's deal. We pay £1m and they insert a sell on clause but want some of the Foster add ons wiping off. So its just coming to an agreement which ones. Which strangely means that the success of Ben Fosters Man U career will determine how much Ryan Shawcross costs us i.e. if we write off his Champions League and Premeriship winning add ons (250k each) and he wins them then its cost us an extra 500k for Shawcross but if he doesn't then Shawcross will just cost us the fee we pay now if you get me

1 million would surely be one hell of a snip for shawcross
hes already regarded as the best defender in the championship, and hes only 20!
