The main thing for me was when Burger went off we lost something. He's the one for me that can pick that pass through the lines to put Cannon in. Moran also looked like he hadn't fully recovered. I think in general most people can see progress and accept its a young side. Plus we were crap for years so the next step up would be average for a time? You should have said 'on his day'. He was awful last night. I think his pass completion was the lowest percentage on the field. The only time he passed forward it went out and most of his passes either didn't get to the man or went behind him so the player had to stop running forward to get the ball. And then to top it off with another stupid challenge on the half way line, I would think Pèlach was seething. I can imagine they have spoken about ways Burger can reduce the number of bookings he gets. Last season when he got the two match suspension for 12 bookings he never got back in the team and we went on a good run. Much better to persist with Sidibe. He played the best forward ball of the night, soon after he came on and without dithering and looking about first. My image of Burger is looking up once he has the ball, feign to kick it one way, then another then turn and pass it back to a centre half. I agree he has the ability to play forwards but doesn't use it often enough and takes too long deciding what to do.

They did. Missed an absolute sitter at the end of the first half. Had the only shot of note in the second and pinned us back with a series of corners. The only positive is we gained a point That was more to do with outmuscling not out playing or thinking us. There only tactics were how to waste time in as many different ways as possible. They were effective at what they did, were in general bigger and stronger than us. Cannon had no chance on his own up front. Koumas should have been on the left supporting him (not out wide) and Junho should have been playing the no.10 instead of Moran. We were so lightweight up front.

He always seems to get on the wrong side of his man.The end result of that is he pulls his man back or tackles from behind which always results in a booking. Last night was plain stupid he misses the first challenge and wildly goes into the second one. Quite idiotic, he should engage his second brain cell. Pelach should be telling him to keep goal side if possible. At the moment he is a liability.

Outmuscled in midfield and up front. Good job they had nothing up front. Maybe a Gallagher night tonight might have added some physical presence to help Cannon. About Gallagher where is he? he's played about 3.5 games first the calf strain - out for 6/7 weeks, then returns a game & half - hamstring? Think Blackburn have done us there. May be the missing link up front but he needs to play or get rid and replace with someone who can play alongside Cannon and stay fit. He's marginally worse than Pearson on percentage of attendance. Mind you Labour are looking at plans to get more people off sick, perhaps they can start with Gallagher and Pearson.

I don't think I can be bothered to think of the correct cliche for last night's performance. The game did however bring back "fond" memories of "that" Preston game under TP, even if it wasn't as cold last night. If the idiot Preston keeper hadn't done what he did I am not sure there would have been anything to discuss. I can't understand what he was thinking. Just kick the ball out. When you are playing the worst team in England at throw-ins, Preston would have regained possession within 2 or 3 touches or the ball would have ended up back with Viktor. Magnolia (of course).

Now not saying Stoke were particularly exciting or entertaining the other night but funny video here that pretty much describes PNE for me... The epitome of a Boring club!
Interesting that quite a few PNE fans agree with this chaps content! 😉🤣
