It’s almost like it’s his job to stop it happening… How dare we expect a defender to you know, defend. The full backs have been crap too. And not it’s not. We have the most worked keeper in the league and Gibson has looked every inch an old over the hill plodder. Hes an easy target. He's not been perfect but he's also not the biggest problem. The bigger names. The star players. The likes of Burger and Junho have (on the whole) been so poor this season. But its easy to pick on Gibson. The reality is, he's a decent player and far from being a problem for us. I really don't get the hatred for Gibson. He's a decent Championship centre half. 31 is not that old and he still seems to play with a passion, something which a lot of the older players we've had recently haven't had. They were saying on Radio Stoke yesterday before the match what a great example he is to the younger players. Apparently he always arrives early to training and works on his own, stays after training and, though I' m not there to see it is, always first out on the pitch pre match, warming up. It's good to see Phillips doing well but I'm sure he has been helped playing alongside Gibson.

The last couple of matches have suggested maybe I’ve been too quick to write him off. Having the strong and pacy Phillips alongside him seems to get the best out of him.

One thing I like about Gibson - it’s nice to be dangerous from corners again. That bit of extra commitment makes all the difference when getting on the end of a set piece.

His performances have been poor and the expectation was that he’d be a real benefit to the side, yesterday I thought he was decent enough

Just noticed Ryan Kent, LW from Rangers then Fenerbache is a free agent, only 27. Wonder if he’d improve the squad?? Quality at Rangers, haven't seen how he got on in Turkey though. Would be somebody I'd take a punt on

I'd love a cheeky bid for Adebayo in January! 2 in 15? No thanks. I'd take punt on the lad from Notts County

A striker and a centre half still please. There has to be a left back as a priority.

I think the whole shape of the January window depends upon whether or not we truly believe either Gallagher and/or the Bosun will be going concerns in the 2nd half of the season.
I mean beyond the 'should be back on the grass soon' stuff. Are there 23 Championship matches in either of them in the 2nd half of the season?

Lawal is already training Should see him in January then Possibly. Personally I think we will only see glimpses of his potential/strengths on his return from injury, hopefully wrong. However following his rehab, minutes and pre-season it will be next season before we can have a much clearer picture. Don’t forget there will be different faces, qualities to consider after January and the Summer windows.
