I honestly don't know what the answer is, unfortunately no one at the club gives me any confidence to put it right.
Most of our players have no heart, we get beaten by quicker, sharper, fitter teams who are coached by competent managers.
The owner hasn't got a clue how to run a football club, the Director of Football has absolutely no experience of the job other than a short spell at Fleetwood.
Looking like we play Port Vale next season.

In isolation of today alone, I don’t think we played too badly. Yes we gifted them 2 goals and there was much to be concerned about with certain individuals, but we created better chances than they did yet sadly, familiarly, we didn’t take them again.
We have to work so hard for goals yet we gift them easily at the other end.

We're pinning our hopes on a bloke with a bosted back and a bloke whose hamstring goes tying his boot laces. Roll on next May.

League One here we come. At least we might, yes might, just win a few more games than we lose in that division.
Sick of the bottom half and being consistently shit.

Deserved defeat even though both goals were a little lucky. Awful first half.
Just think we should go back to 3 in midfield.
The league is pretty shit and we've got enough quality up top to win enough games. Just fix the midfield and have a go.

I don’t get the whole xg thing but Phillips should have scored twice (it was harder to miss) and Koumas is clean through on goal 🤷♂️

We’d be just as bad in league one I think, we’d lose any of the quality we currently have, the loans would be from Championship instead of Premier League clubs, it’d be horrendous.

As long as John Coates is at the helm the exact same cycle will continue when we eventually go down to league 1. We have lingered around the bottom half since we've been in the championship and our luck is going to run out sooner or later.
This idea that we will have a reset in league 1 is nonsense. We'll just keep going around in circles changing managers, changing systems, a constant rotation of players in and out etc.
We have no blueprint from the youth level up to the first team on how we want to play our football.
If I'm proven wrong I'll hold my hands up as I want the best for my club like anyone else. His track record up to now however, speaks for itself.

For me there is still some hope
Keeper is quality All of the loans are decent, especially Koumas We have some decent players to come back from injury (and they will be back at some point despite being written off by some on here) Junho looked much better today I think Pelach has potential (more of a gut feeling)
The recent performances have been dire though and we have to pick up some wins to regain some momentum, ideally starting with Derby next weekend.

The only hope would be that we’d be free from the championship FFP shackles so could potentially spend more like Birmingham did this summer. Completely agree though, it would be a horrible season at least unless it was an absolute cakewalk to promotion. I’m not sure if trust is to get promoted even if we spent a fortune with our recent spending history.

What decent players coming back from injury do you actually mean, one that gets sent off every few games, another no body knows and not proven anything and someone who's injured every few games unless I've missed someone

I said that when we got relegated, didn't work out like that though did it? 100% correct. I thought the same when we were relegated from the Prem, no way did I expect we’d have over half a decade of tripe with the occasional highlights - typically the best form we’ve had in the past few years was during lockdown: and no I’m not suggesting we play better without fans. The fans have been more than patient with this Club and the owners are lucky that we haven’t shown more vitriol. Any enthusiasm has been slowly and surely sucked out of most supporters over the past few years.

Sadly Dave with this set of players they are exactly what is needed. Our midfield is piss weak and there’s no physicality whatsoever in the team, those 3 would go along way to solving some of that

Problem is, we said that when we got relegated from the prem. Truth of the matter is, I have zero confidence that we have people running the club who can turn this sinking ship around - they've led us into this position twice before, once we got out thanks to the sheer bloody mindedness of Lou Macari and the second time was thanks to the Icelandics.

Even with a fortune at our disposal I don’t trust our recruitment team to spend it wisely - just look at what the ownership did with our parachute payments from the Prem. Virtually every team that has been relegated in the past 10 years has made a decent stab at getting into the play offs at least - the one exception being you know who!

Gallagher,Lawal and Pearson are the hope but when we’ll see them god only knows🤷♂️ And there lies the problem, Gally has 1 good game and suddenly he's Harry fucking Kane, no one on here has a clue if Lawal is any better than our current midfielder's, and Pearson was fucking slated as being a problematic, unfit red card waiting to happen. We are a lower half Champo club, with lower half Champo players. Fucked off.

I feel the good spells for Stoke came from them being completely comfortable with us having the ball. Add to the fact that it was supposedly an out of form opposition, we can’t take tangible positives from this game other than our keeper kept us in it again. Derby will be a better bench mark of our level in this league.

That one Moore looped up in the air and Campbell volleyed was as poor as I have seen. And upfront, little lads getting bullied. Waiting for the ball to come to them and someone nips round them and nicks it. They literally walked around for 40 mins and we never laid a glove on them. A tragic performance, start to finish.

This theory was posited when we came down from the Prem. Didn’t work then either. If we go down, we just get thrashed equally regularly but in a lower league. We are finished if we go down there.
