If no one wants him you can’t get rid…… There was interest in the window but we didn't pull the trigger. There was rumoured interest doesn’t mean it was concrete. Barnsley signed an alternative early on deadline day for example…..

Rose is awful too. I am generally fair minded and do give players the benefit of the doubt, but there’s been no improvement at all since he’s been here. A guy living close to me(Hertfordshire) knows him from his Stevenage days,he was never a defender there apparently but more a box to box midfielder. We need better then the likes of him and Rose, and from what Gibson showed us in Friday, him too if we are going to owt this season. Why was he voted player of the season then? Fuck knows.

I'm trying really hard to get motivated for this, but damn it's difficult. Agree I’m going and really really fear the worst , a sense it could be the beginning of a accelerated spiral of things getting worse

If Pelach plays Manhoef centrally it has to be more of a #10 as against Hull he was alongside Cannon, anyone who thinks otherwise needs an appointment at Specsavers.
442 with the midfielders we've got is impossible.

Such an unbalanced squad and midfield is horrendously weak , decisions on Laurent and baker look bonkers without adequate replacements especially as both now in squads better than ours

I do, Because the majority thought he was, but keep your silly boo boy agenda going Sympathy vote after his bad injury. There wasn't much choice and we haven't a great record with choosing pots He tries hard and people love that but he can't defend and can't pass a football

I think he will go
Johansson Wilmot Rose Gibson Bocat Seko Burger Koumas Manhoef Junho Cannon
Wilmot staying back and making a back 3 when in possession with Bocat pushing high and wide.

I’d take a god awful 0-0 now. Another loss and we’re right up against it. Hopefully it’ll be the same as last season where Neil actually set the team up well. We actually played Middlesbrough away last season on the same day our cruise embarked, and it’s the same again today. There’s an omen for you.

Think this will be a good test and an opportunity for Pelach to learn about the squad in action not on the practice pitch. Genuinely think we have a chance. We need to cut out the silly backpass mistakes.

Quite like this, and I also think he'll try Wilmot at RB. The midfield looks a bit weak though, unless Burger actually starts tackling instead of the "stick the foot out"-thing he's doing at the moment. Also, Manhoef (R), Junho (C), Koumas (L) is better if it's a 4-2-3-1. If it's a 4-4-1-1 your setup is better IMO

It’s hard to feel optimistic about this game/result - just hoping they can show signs of developing into something that will be viable as the season progresses.

Actually looking forward to the game, seems I am just about the only one!!!
Such a shame Phillips can't play, he adds some calm to the back line.
I have no idea who will play, but we have enough talent to win any game. Our set pieces were miles better last week.
2-0 Stoke.

Getting away wins is difficult at the best of times
Just think we’ve got too much going on with a new coach trying to implement his ideas. Might take a month on the training ground before we can settle in to any kind of game plan
Expecting to see things get worse before they get better
2-0 Middlesbrough

I can’t really see a scenario in which we win this game.
Boro will be too strong up top for our mediocre defence.
A defeat will make Wednesday an important game, especially as Portsmouth could be coming into it with 0 wins from 7.

We often turn up best when we’re least expecting them to play well, come on lads let’s get behind the team and be a bit more optimistic

Most definitely talent there and Yes, they'll play well when they're on a winning streak but always got the feeling that when the chips were down they disappear. Also reminded me of the 'cliquish' type. I could be doing 'em a dis-service as I don't know 'em but reminded me of the type who could heavily influence less strong personalities be it rightly or wrongly. I'd always be looking over my back if I was a Manager. Oh well, time will tell..

I'm not too worried about the result today...along as it's not an embarrassing one I just want to see some unity /togetherness and a sprinkling of creativity throughout, from defence, midfield and attack Nevermind

I'm not too worried about the result today...along as it's not an embarrassing one I just want to see some unity /togetherness and a sprinkling of creativity throughout, from defence, midfield and attack Nevermind I agree. We have to give NP and the young squad time. He's already seen that one big problem (which we've had for seasons) is letting an opposition goal drain us of all confidence when we should just be re-grouping and doing our darndest to regain control. We miss far too many chances that could see us storming into a lead which then gives us huge confidence and momentum and we fall apart defensively at the drop of a hat. Now's the time for leaders to emerge on the pitch to staedy the ship when something goes wrong. We can't control bad ref decisions, we can't control wonder goals being scored against us. We have to learn how to stay composed and build. We as supporters have to stick with it and help to build that confidence. This guy seems to have spotted stuff in a week and identified his challenges where previous managers have either not noticed/not had the balls to try and change the culture /turned a blind eye or not known how to stop the malaise but the rot has to be stopped somehow and it won't always be pretty.

Baker had one good season and did score the odd goal in his truncated appearances. Laurent had 15 good games in 3 seasons. I’m not bothered about them going to other teams squads- that’s exactly what they are, squad players.
