Our only hope is that last night is mostly explained by having very little time to work with a new squad. A repeat of last night against Middlesbrough and we’re 100% in for another relegation battle. If you listen to the Ben Gibson post match interview he says the lads were overwhelmed with new instructions in the 2 days leading up to the Hull game. Hopefully Pelach will calm down a bit this week, keep it simple, too much change too quick will kill us. If I was advising the young toreador I'd suggest he calms down, develops a sense of humour and only mentions his '5-phases' once per training session. Our players have a history of not being able to change or take new things on quickly. Whether that is because they are thick, couldn’t be arsed or are just not very good, who knows. Hopefully the manager keeps it simple and stupid for them and gets to work on their fitness too, then maybe in half a dozen games or so we will see some marked improvement.

A manager can only manage with the cards he's been dealt and Pelach has his work cut out for him. Before our next match he needs to set out his messages and the three important messages he needs to send out is that one, you have to fight for your place in the team and making silly mistakes has consequences. Number two you leave everything out on the pitch and lastly discipline within the structure of the manager's tactics is essential. Middlesborough will certainly be out for revenge and many of our fans will be pessimistic regards the outcome. Our obvious weaknesses has been errors in defence and poor finishing. In recent weeks players that have stood out previously but are now not showing up. We have some quality young players but the manager is going to be brave in his selections knowing that our zealous fans are going to be quick to criticise. A week's training will inform Pelach much more and I expect to see changes. I'm just a supporter but my selection would be centered around a 4 2 3 1 formation:- Johansen Dixon Phillips Gibson Bocat Sidibi Seko Manoef Cannon Koumas Gallagher

I got my ticket a few weeks ago or I definitely wouldn't bother. Thankfully haven't got Swansea tickets. Same here but perversely thinking of going Swansea because it's a ground I haven't been to.

I’d like to see Koumas as the centre forward. He looked very good there against a strong West Brom defence, and I don’t think he’s played in that role since.

This is one that I see us getting absolutely shellacked 3-0.
(Which only means we'll probably win)

Johansson Dixon Phillips Gibson Stevens Sidibe Seko Manhoef Moran Junho Cannon
Rose for Phillips if he can’t play.
Can’t see him going with that midfield though and it is a bit of a risk but I can’t see how it can be any worse.
Also don’t think Dixon will start there, I think he’ll probably go for Wilmot at right back like we moved to at the end of the Hull game.

Gally is back this weekend so hopefully he gets some game time,
It looked like a 424 formation on Friday, eventually I think a Gallagher/Cannon front two with Koumas and Million wide.
If he does he needs the energy of Sidibe in the middle.

Phillips has to play if fit and for me Junoir and Bocat need resting - maybe give Dixon and Stevens a chance or stick Wilmot in as a full-back

Maybe a step or two too far? I would like to see it though! What does anyone think? Victor Dixon. Phillips. Gibson Sidibe. Moran Junior. Bocat Manhoof Koumas Cannon I don't think 3 at the back is a bad idea given teams seem to be targeting the flanks when we plat a back 4 with attacking fullbacks but I'd go more Johansson Philips Gibson Rose Gooch Seko Thompson Bocat Manhoef Gallagher (if fit) Koumas Given their performances so far I don't think Junior, Bae or Burger should be starting with Sidibe and Moran ahead of them in the pecking order. I thought Seko looked to have something about hom despite misplacing a couple of passes against Hull - at least he was looking to move the ball foreard quickly. I'd like to see the front three playing narrow and swapping positions with Gooch and Bocat providing the width. If the team selected is nothing like that (and it would probably will be nothing like that) the thing I want to see us do is pick a formation and a starting 11 and stick with it as far as possible. Under both Neil and Schumacher we tried to be too clever and kept chopping and changing. We need to keep it simple, get good at the basics and then go from there, not over complicate things while we find our feet with this new squad.

And something the new coach has to put right and one game when he'd been here 48 hours isn't really giving him a chance Plenty of games last year we were going to get torn apart/mullered etc and we won.

No reason we shouldn't be able to do so again.

Lots of excitement for this one...
We do have a good recent record there and they haven't flown out of the blocks either. Having said that they were well in the game first half in the cup and then we just went crazy after nicking a second. Shame we wasted all those goals there.
I just hope he has the balls to play Sidibe.

It's the best we've got at the minute and i don't agree that it's bottom 6. A new RB, Phillips at CB and Lawal at CM would be preferable but we can't have that just yet. Gallagher may also end up ahead of Cannon but we'll see.
