Right, slept on it.
It was an even worse performance on reflection than it was yesterday at the time. An absolute mess with backwards and sideways rubbish attempted by players not competent to do it…..we were lucky to get away with 2-0. If there is any more attempts at playing like that with what we have, we are done for.

The team has been working towards a hard working pressing on the front foot moving forward type players. That’s why we got rid of players who were not of that type for example Campbell, Mmae and to a lesser extent Baker and Laurent. So SS was a good move by JC to bring in the type of manager who has gradually got a few of the type of players to suit that style. Walters came after SS appointed and had a different agenda and has got his way by sacking SS. He alone takes responsibility for the changes throughout the club including the management team. To change to tippy tappy playing most possession across the back is not how the fans want stoke to play and I doubt any of the players want that. We do not have the disciplined defenders and midfielders to play like that. That means another change in players over the next windows and it starts all over again. Groundhog Day etc etc

Just when we’d offloaded those not suitable for SS, we let him recruit his men but then go and replace him with a manager who would’ve done better with those very same players let go under his style. It’s just incompetent madness at best.

There was a Sentinel article about this the other day - the HC has right of veto buy does not lead on recruitment.

Haven't read all this as I needed a "non-Stoke" day after that debacle on Saturday.
I am sure we have all picked up on the awful, utterly useless and boring tactic of playing round the back with ZERO effect. Dreadful.
However, if you want more pain, watch their second goal again! Fuck me we let the lad wander up the pitch without any serious challenge??
No matter what tactics are deployed, if the team don't run and tackle then we have got no chance.

Thompson is a disgrace for that second goal, the fact that he’s still playing and starting regularly for us is mental.
