This is a team that obviously hasn't yet bought in to what he's asking them to do.

It absolutely baffles me that people slate any player who plays alongside Burger, and yet continues to overlook the fact that Burger is absolutely shite This is Thompsons 5th season? He's been wank for all 5. Nothing to do with Burger Burger - especially defensively - is a much bigger issue than JT

Well I was hoping for a new manager bounce. He did plenty of gesticulating on the touchline but I don't know what it was about and clearly neither did the players. Still it's his first match so it can only get better --- surely?

1 because the starting line up was sensible But putting Tezgel on the right wing. We practically deserved to lose based on that decision alone Agreed, that was similar to putting Gooch as number 10 attacking mid

At least he tried to get on the ball and move forward. You wouldn't have noticed Thompson at all as he was completely and utterly anonymous as he has been for 5 years.

The reason for sacking Schumacher was the management considered that the squad we had were deemed to have the potential to take us forward but Schuey didn’t seem to have that vision. Time will tell.

Second half was a worrying watch. Hull saw what we were doing in the first half and pushed up onto us even more and we just couldn’t get out or keep the ball. Add in the individual errors and the tiredness from chasing shadows and it made for a painful experience.

I prefer not to notice CDMs I noticed Burger being weak as piss in a challenge for their 2nd And the exact same thing again for their 3rd

It's not his fault - he’s somehow expected to manage in the Championship less than a week after setting up cones for training at Norwich.
That said, atrocious—0/10.

Can't pass, can't tackle, awful in the air, weak as piss, doesn't track men, offers no protection to the back 4 and doesn't go forward.

If we’d put our chances away first half we might have. We never turn the screw when we’re in the ascendancy….

Shumacher wouldn't have lost that game. I disagree Im open to discuss, but that second half actually gave me the realisation, that i can not any longer arrange my day around watching Stoke.im a nomad that has been here,i went Cardiff away, etc im just done, i cant justify the money as an exile these days, and its fucking shit, lets be honest?

Just because he's been here for two days doesn't mean they aren't playing his tactics, surely everyone can see today we played no diagonal balls that's his decision so we must be able to rate his input,so on that basis only 2 for me he got wrong big time

I thought it/he was a bit all over the place.
Why is it to early to rate him, he was on the touch line today and didn’t seem to be able to influence the way the game was going at all.
Hopefully we/he gets going soon or this could spiral outta control
After the 3rd it seemed like the players were blaming each other, long way from the group cuddle before the game 😳

What I will say is that he said he knows the squad and will play a system that suits the squad … Wilmot cannot play football out from the back as evidenced by the 2nd goal. I’ll give the new manager a pass though given he’s had so little time to work with them.

1st Half: 8. Manhoef out of position worked surprisingly well for 30 solid minutes. Koumas looked a real danger, I thought Thompson and Burger were decent.
2nd Half: *EDIT* 2. Unable to respond to the pressure, totally sussed out in that Hull could press and the two centrehalves couldn't quite hack - it they'd also worked out how to keep Manhoef and the forward line very quiet and he couldn't adapt to that.
We lost the game and it's very very annoying, but fuck me in the head - what an equaliser to gift them. That's not instruction to tippy tap pass, nor is it 'Eric, go out and be a prat'.
What we can't be to NP is a learning experience at our expense. And what we shouldn't do as a set of fans is have a massive hissy fit because we lost a game.

Big credit for Million down the middle, genuinely innovative
However naive second half, his reaction to Hull bringing a winger on was to replace Koumas with Tezgel and instruct him to essentially play as a second right back Shocking After that he didn't react at all to the shambles developing before his eyes

If we'd won 4-0 tonight, would people still be saying it's too early to rate him? I do, and I would. We can't give him 5 minutes before dismissing him. That's JWs job. Two stupid errors from Bocat and Wilmot, and an unlucky own goal. On the other hand, we looked toothless in the 2nd half. Plus the subs made no sense, and players playing out of position. Points for seeing Junior/Bocat being targeted and trying to fix it. Minus points for using Ennis.

I genuinely don't think you would mate.
If we'd won 4-0 tonight and somebody like (say) bayernoatcake had come on here tonight and said, you can't give Pelach a rating because he has only just arrived here, then he would have been laughed off the message board.
The point I'm making, is that many of the people on this thread who are currently suggesting it's too soon to rate Pelach, are only saying this because of how bad we were tonight and if we had actually blown Hull away, then those very same posters would be praising him to high heaven and making comments like "it was a breath of fresh air" and "it's just what we needed" etc. awarding him 8's, 9's and 10's out of 10.

This thread is purely about tonight's game,as we do after every game Absolutely can't make any overall judgements off one game but you can state how you think how he handled the match surely?
