In businesses I’ve been involved in spanning 40 years where I was at the top of the companies personality clashes happened. Not the frequently but when they did so it was the MD who took people aside to air their differences shake hands and move on . This may well have happened of course who knows ? But it seems unlikely. After Oxford perhaps SS should have been given a final chance . But it seems Coates just never attempts to run his own business. He leaves it to Walters to martin to jones etc etc . His job in all of this is to knock their silly heads together and get the two of them to work with each other . That doesn’t seem in Walters compass . He’s acting like some power mad gunslinger . It’s weak management. Allowing each CEO ( as it were) to run the business as if it was his own . Giving the keys to the city to an inexperienced guy . That said I remember two girls in my department who hated each other . I tried to get them to work together. Held individual meets with them . Had meetings with the two of them . Nothing seemed to work . The thought crossed my head of shagging them both . Perhaps a bit of pillow talk might help. But that fantasy was short lived . I took the easy way out and moved one to another department. Peace restored . Not that this story can be replicated in this situation but Coates is a big problem. Just bends in the wind with no clear ideas of his own it seems

This smells of players not playing for him. Burger complete shadow of last season and Bae suddenly losing all his passion and mojo to mention a couple. If Gibson, as speculated, has gone to SJW for frank and open talks after the Oxford débâcle, then there you have it….possibly.

John’s got less brain cells than he has hair follicles.
I imagine he just sits in the office chair all day and someone is employed to spin him.

Coates is the owner - his job is to hire and fire the DoF. Walters is the DoF - it's his job to hire and fire the HC. If there is a clash between the DoF and the HC the owner leaves it to the DoF to resolve, not undermine the DoF by siding with the HC. If the DoF keeps falling out with the HC for no good reason he gets rid of both and starts again.

You'll have fall-outs, because egos are involved. You will know, that you let a Manager run their Department. You only interfere if you see by results, or are told, that things are not going as they should. Then you investigate. J.W. is in charge & as such he makes the decisions that he either stands or falls by. John Coates will not interfere unless he has to. Neither should he.

I’ve said on several occasions that I think when it comes to football. John is extraordinarily naive and just seems to believe most of what he has been told at face value, pivoting violently if he hears something he thinks is more convincing. It’s very easy to see why he was taken in by Ricky Martin for instance, a man who now looks like his only route back into football is Carlisle. Him and his dad were impressed by Paul Lambert because he did a good presentation.
I don’t know what his role is, but he’s been heavily involved in Football operations by his own admission, sitting on the technical board when MON was here etc and clearly has a close working relationship with Walters.
What can be said without any conjecture is since he joined the football club we’ve fallen from 9th in the Premier League and a cup semi final to 17th in the second tier, narrowly avoided point deductions and are now onto our 7th manager in 6 years.
His money makes him untouchable, but I really don’t know how much more evidence people need that the guy simply cannot run a football club.

The only thing I would say is that SJW has clearly discussed this matter with JC. He (JC) had a chance to pull this back a little bit without undermining anyone SJW or SS. He could have told SJW to hang on a couple of weeks but he didn't. He supported SJW. Whether that is, as you say,to ensure the chain of command is not undermined or whether he agreed with SJW's assessment, I suppose we will never really know. During the alleged conversation I hope he asked SJW who he had lined up to replace SS. How much would it cost and how sure is SJW that his man will come? If we don't get this over the line quickly there will be some red faces knocking around Clayton Wood.

Okay, just over 3 weeks ago Walters and SS had a big falling out. I have not been told why. Since that falling out they have not spoken to each other. At half time at Oxford, something went off with the players. Pretty profound I hear and the players were not happy. It appears SS did not travel back on the team coach. If this is correct then it appears that Walters and SS were not going to work together. Also before any of this and before Walters came there was a meeting between SS and Coates about players he could sign in the Jan window. This was rejected by SS and he said didn't want any of those. We ended up signing Ennis and Manhoef. Relations had strained between Coates and SS to a point where Walters was appointed to oversee things. At the end of the day, like all managers JC hired them and fired them.

With each passing fan forum he comes across a someone who knows absolutely fuck all and only cares about things relating to FFP. It wouldn't be so bad if he employed people who knew what they were doing but the proof suggests he's yet to do that.

I don’t know why he does those on-stage events. He clearly hates being up there.

I've had conversations with people who've had very close dealings with him who say he isn't the sharpest tool in the box, to put it kindly. Denise Coates is happy keeping him out of the running of Bet365 HQ. He's the one common theme which appears in our demise. Do we need new owners?

I’ll make a bold prediction. We will appoint someone. We will still finish 16 ish. We will then realise SJW is a player masquerading as someone in charge. We will then sack SJW and the new manager. JC will still be at the Top and refusing to accept he is the problem. Ad - Fucking - Infinitum.
