Do highly sought coaches at the top of their game want any Championship job? and why would they? Absolutely Can't see anyone who fits that description in our league and are bigger clubs than us in it

Why do you dislike Walter’s so much and jump to these conclusions as if anyone knows what has gone on. JW cares about the club and has its best interests at heart, also his reputation on the line. Fans used to complain when we let a manager stay too long now they have made a quick decision they are getting blasted for that. Now I’m not a massive fan of jc but at least they have acted now I don't think he's done anything to deserve the level of influence he has. I think he undid a lot of the good progress we made off the pitch. I dislike how he wants to be the poster boy of the club, how often did you ever see David Dein or David Gill giving interviews. Personally I think it should be a private, dignified powerful position. He runs us like a Vanity YouTube Channel. Oh shut up you tart

Now it could obviously go 2 ways either me with egg on my face or you. He’s probably trying to make a name for himself in this job hence him trying to be a poster boy. I would rather someone like jw than someone who drags it on til Xmas. Your just coming across as can’t standing him

No one is saying nobody wants the job. They are saying that the highly sought after Head Coaches at the top of their game want the job. Neil and Schumacher don't fall into that category. Do highly sought coaches at the top of their game want any Championship job? Highly sought after in terms of what a Championship club with promotion prospects can offer yes. And they go to the clubs with parachute payments. We simply aren't fishing in that pond.

I've agitated for a continental manager for years but although this would tick that box on one level, I can't help thinking that here we go again trying to poach a rivals manager - and it ALWAYS ALWAYS fails - Rowett, Jones, Neil and Schuey and now another potentially....... You do realise he isn't a rivals manager right?

As Pete Smith mentioned, would he be our 2nd youngest manager, just older than Waddington when he took over, and just a bit younger than Mick Mills?
Hopefully he's more like Waddington.

You moan about him giving interviews but then if we never heard from him some would say why do they not come out and speak about things about the club. They can’t win can they 🤷♂️ Which is exactly what they were all saying before we started doing these regular update videos. The self indulgent videos is just a personal gripe. I don't think your Football Director should be front and center. My main issue is he clearly had the full keys to the building and I don't think he should.

However, I’m not sure he’s really qualified for his current role, I think this is a particularly unfair decision on Schumacher. The worse part about it is the timing though, it’s horrendous and makes it seem like it’s a snap decision rather than one that has been well thought out (because if that was the case it would’ve been done in the summer or before the international break). I’m also sad that we’ve turned into a club that sacks the manager every season, especially one who didn’t deserve to be sacked, we needed some stability.

Tbh neither me or you are qualified enough to say he is or he isn’t right for his role. I agree re timing it’s not great but this leads me to think something has gone off. I liked Schumacher although was 50-50 on him and on the face of it seems harsh. I also rightly or wrongly have been waiting for our club to stop being a soft touch and if things aren’t going right replace as soon as. Time will tell I guess

You could well be right and we could have said the same if coberan took over us instead of Huddesfield and look at what it did there and is arguably the best manager in the division so if we have gone down a different route I’m all for that. He could also be just what we need time will tell

Heard it’s Norwich Manger with whitehead as his sidekick ……I thought we might have gone for the first AI manager…..progressive or what ! First mention of Whitehead? Seems to have been everywhere recently - Vale, Besiktas, Cardiff... Just turned up at Barnsley with the ex Vale manager

We’re not an attractive project for any manager/coach anymore with any kind of credentials …the biggest pull for us was our owners which seems to have gone to shit…we’ve hired n fired like Watford🔴⚪️ Simply not true as our previous 2 managers left good jobs and teams above us to join us A lots changed since then mate🔴⚪️

I’m also sad that we’ve turned into a club that sacks the manager every season, especially one who didn’t deserve to be sacked, we needed some stability. How do we know he’s not qualified for the role? Very few of us know what the role is. How do we know it’s unfair on Schumacher? He may have done something / not done something / said something out of order and deserved the sack. I agree the timings not great but if the above applies then the timing is what it is. If that doesn’t apply then it isn’t really a snap decision and the fact that Norwich gave us permission to speak to him within hours of sacking Schuey indicates he’s been on our radar for a while and events over the weekend, either the performance or something else, has precipitated his sacking. The fact that we’ve had 6 managers in 6 seasons doesn’t sit well with me either but almost to a man this board was unanimous that we held on to Pulis and Hughes too long but then when we become trigger happy everyone complains about that too? We do need stability but if the club don’t think Schumacher is going to provide that then best he goes now. I (like absolutely everyone else on here) have no idea who Pellach is or if he’ll be any good and would personally have given Schumacher til December but it ain’t my fortune he’s spaffing up the wall. He who pays the piper calls the tune. I think we have to wait and see.

I freely admit I have never heard of him but on what basis has he absolutely no credentials? He played in the 4th tier of Spanish football, retired at 25, coached in Spain with a B side and at Huddersfield, seems to have been 'partied company with' a few times as the main man got sacked, then rocked up at Norwich last season.

Given Walters' background, here's two possibilities from left-field.... Robbie Keane and Damian Duff. Keane has just left his job in Israel, having just won the domestic league. He was, however, coming under increasing pressure because of the conflict in the region. Duff has done an an amazing job in getting Shelbourne to the top of the League of Ireland. Yes, it's not a great standard, but he has made a huge impact in a very short time. He's going to be picked up at some point; why not by us???
