Unless Gallagher is available, he really needs to bin 442. Until he realises that, I won't be 100% sold on him. agree , there’s a reason 442 became out of fashion , you get over run in midfield to easily It is an increasingly common defensive shape now in the PL. but it has the two wide men tucking in to flood midfield unlike old school 4-4-2.

So 9 points from 8 games. Schumacher had 12 from 12……. So after 24 matches Schumacher would have 24 from 24 and Pelach 27. After 96 matches Schumacher would have 96 and Pelach 108. Well he's now got 12 from 9

If matters shit what formation you want lay, you need to receive the pigs bladder and distribute it first and foremost before getting clever dick tactics and there for formations. Just be able pass and move more than the oppo your on a winner

I'm glad we've got him. Didn't agree with the sacking but he's proving people wrong now.

It wasn’t a good watch first half in fact it was quite concerning we looked that bad and rudderless.
Welcome the three points obviously

Theres some signs of a team there in going forward and defending the box.
But jeezus we cant be planning on giving every team 25 potshots at Viktor every game can we??
We just give up that middle third of the pitch with barely a tackle of note

We have a goalkeeper who should be playing for a top half PL team and 4 attackers who might between them get a goal or two each game.
He’s not doing anything to help the team apart from play the 4 attackers as close to their goal and sit back and watch Johansson have another blinder.

Maybe that’s all he can do for now with the bodies and (limited) talent he has in the squad. What he seems to have done though is foster a good team spirit and the players clearly like him. Personally I’m keen to give him time as long as we pick up points on the way. Never took to Schumacher, seemed a bit of a chancer to me.

We’ve lost 1 in 7 and whilst he’s had to make saves, tonight is the busiest he’s been and it’s the exact same game he had against us for Rotherham - it’s what good keepers do. We are starting to defend and attack much better as a team as far as I can tell and although the midfield is hardly a robust one, it allows us to be better when we move through the pitch. Might be a bit open at times but it works both ways.

Maybe the changing of formations is all part of the master plan and that’s why I’m not a trendy football coach. I’m not necessarily complaining, I do think it’s an objective fact though that the defence and midfield are paper thin, through the amount of shots we concede.

Yes my first paragraph wasn’t about him it’s what he’s inherited. Although we do have a good LB, shame he’s the only squad member still older than me.

However in the past recent years many players would have attempted to carry on and maybe not got the pen. Same with Cannon V Derby.

He's certainly got a group mentality going. Everyone wad hugging each other tonight after the match. Great team spirit 👏 Just got back. During the second half which we were defending in front of the Stoke fans there were numerous occasions where players were giving each other a lift by gestures, hand shakes etc. on one occasion Burger must have sprinted 20 yards simply hand shake with Victor. If nothing else there’s certainly a strong team spirit that’s both visible and audible. Long may it continue

Cannons was a total dive imo. But you will literally find me shouting “dive” at our players. Being honest gets you nowhere.

Can't pay too much attention to xG.
We're giving up a lot of opportunities but we need to remember that we're a bottom half side and still a big work in progress. We will improve.
