I’ve never felt so positive after todays game after a good few years of mainly misery - Some great youngsters coming through and being given a chance. - In Manhouf, Bae, Burger and now Bocat 4 excellent young players who are ours - Some great young loanees being given a chance which will only improve our reputation amongst the big clubs - Players being moved on that were holding us back I’ve criticised SS in the past for some bad decisions but he and the management team deserve huge credit for changing the direction of the club. If we have some luck with injuries I can see this year being much improved on the last few and far more entertaining. It's normally directors who dictate the direction of the organisation. That's probably why they're called Directors. 🤔 Lost on some, I think. JC has been banging the drum on this for a while. He now has two blokes in charge who seem happy to drive this through. Maybe SS has been told his job is not wholly dependent on getting promotion. Maybe his KPI's are more varied. Who knows..but I like the direction we're heading. |

I also think Laurent should've gone all Michael Owen and smashed the ball at kids. Guardiola is clueless too, the way he held Phil Foden back for so long. It wasn’t even about that. He wasn’t making simple passes and doing simple drills. It was really bad. And just showed a terrible attitude. I mean the fact the keepers won it should have embarrassed the lot of them. And seemingly didn’t. I'm intrigued now, could you point me in the direction of this youtube video where Laurent was schooled by a bunch of 11yr olds😂 |

Looks a proper modern day multi skilled footballer. When you used to get "defenders" coming through they'd be a very certain type but this kid looks like someone who could play in a few different positions and look at home.
I'm not comparing him to Rico Lewis but watching him just made me think of Dixon as in, does he really have a "position" ? A good footballer is a good footballer.

I think he held Foden back for sure. I think why Foden is so poor for England stems from him not being in the squad when he should have been earlier on. And the pie? Yeah clearly it was just friction 🤣 |

Another like Sidibe who just slotted straight in and looks a player Schumacher is not afraid to blood the young lads and his management of them is top drawer Dixon is very highly regarded within the game. I’m beginning to see why. Turned down a number of serious offers I believe from PL teams |

Immensely proud given our younger players out there today but Plymouth are extremely poor. It’s going to be a bit of a roller coaster season and hopefully the stamina doesn’t bite us in the arse |

And I can’t agree with the op. It’s criminal Sidibe has started 0 league games and the waster Laurent has started 3. Its pretty simple Laurent is 29 and proven at this level. Sidibe is 17 and never played at this level, so hes being eased in. Now youre just talking bollocks that even Alex Ferguson wouldnt have done. So far so good with Sidibe, but dont put too much pressure or expectation on him right now. Im sure he will be a regular starter by October time and our most important midfielder. Sorry but saying Laurent is proven at this level is so wrong, absolutely shit show of a player and one of the many reasons our previous scouting/league position is woefully bad. Sidibe came on today and looked a breath of fresh air, head and shoulders in his limited minutes than Laurent did in 2 years |

Agree with much of that and that's the frustrating thing about Laurent, he's not shit, very far from it he has everything to be a top class box to box midfielder apart from drive. We've given him every chance and rightly so given his natural ability but he's not going to be the player he could have been. |

The fact this thread took about 5 posts to turn in to a Sidibe vs Laurent debate is laughable.
We’re 4 games in to the season, Sidibe may well end up with 42 starts. We just don’t know yet.
Let’s judge it at the end of the season for fuck sake😂.
As for Dixon, the original point of the thread, the kid looks good and I can’t wait to see him more.
