I thought Ashley looked really sound. I hope he plays at Plymouth.

Very impressive indeed. Got a touch of Van Dyke about him for me. Would be playing Saturday alongside Gibson . Height usefull and looked a talker.

He has to replace Wilmot. It’s just sensible. Phillips’ pace on the cover will hugely help Gibson and his full-back, imo. I love his pass out to Junior for the first goal last night. It looks simple but it was fast and accurate and quite a long one but we very rarely see passes like it from the other centre halves we have.

Speed kills at any level which is basic stuff and it's been infuriating seeing us play and move too slow under several regimes.

Yep, I think it’s partly about knowing the pass you want to play before the ball arrives. Knowing it’s going out to Junior means you just check it’s on then zip it out. Too often we seem to see players receiving the ball then assessing the options and picking one. I think Wilmot’s range of passing is pretty good, but my worry is his speed of thought.

Steve Bould started his career at RB. Possibly to integrate him into the side and gain experience but always with the intention to move him into the middle. He was about 6’ 3” if memory serves me right He was terrible at RB to be fair. Mills taught him a lot about defending when he managed him. I wouldn’t say he was “terrible”. Certainly gained invaluable first team exposure/experience which he developed upon……learning his trade!

I thought Ashley looked really sound. I hope he plays at Plymouth. I thought Dixon was as easily impressive, read the game well and has exceptional recovery pace, we seem to be a breeding ground for centre backs, Collins, Souter and now Dixon just hope that we can keep him longer than the other two.

Full of composure and mostly in the right place at the right time. Also a bit of unit, so that's a bit of an upgrade. I'd give him a Pilgrim bow.

Really impressed with him last night. As with any player of his age there were a couple of mistakes that he’ll learn from quite quickly but he looks an excellent prospect.

Philips has to play instead of Wilmot from now on.

Prepare to be disappointed. Prepare to eat your words . We played 3 at the back on Saturday and for fifteen minutes or so against Middlesbrough What has playing 3 at the back got to do with Wilmot playing at RB? If we play 3 at the back he'll be one of the three.

Quality signing. Our best defender by a mile.
